Overview
& Key Deliverables
The Systems
Testing / QA Specialist is responsible for performing functional and
non-functional system testing across Panorama interfaces and related
applications. Core deliverables include:
- Performing functional and non-functional system
testing of the interface to Panorama (REACT), Panorama IMMS &
Inventory core and extension applications, enhancements, and defect
resolutions.
- Testing bug fixes in BO reporting as per defects
found by business and core Panorama critical changes.
- Creating complete system testing documentation and
artefacts, including:
- Test plans, test cases, test
scripts
- Automated test scripts
- Test results reports
- Defect logs for Panorama and
associated business objects and Cognos reports
- Transforming functional, business, and system
knowledge into effective test case planning and execution.
- Creating test data as per the test plan, analyzing
results, conducting retesting, participating in walkthroughs, and ensuring
client acceptability.
- Recommending changes to ensure acceptable testing
outcomes; retesting in a live environment and recommending user sign‑off.
- Working closely with developers, architects,
product owners, and others to establish effective test plans based on
feature documentation.
- Applying QA and technical expertise to track and
resolve testing and production issues, maintain service quality, and
address IT-related problems.
Required
Skills & Experience
MUST HAVES
- Experience with integration testing on Product
Modules (e.g., Ontario Health Client Registry, Provider Registry, Audit
Services).
- Experience with ETL process testing to verify
extracted, transformed, and loaded data.
- Experience with enterprise-level performance
testing tools, including scripting, scenario design, execution, and
analysis using LoadRunner.
QA and
Systems Testing Knowledge & Experience

experience, including:
- Serving as lead Systems Testing/QA Specialist,
providing guidance to junior testers and leading planning/execution across
streams.
- Knowledge of testing methods in an object‑oriented
environment.
- Experience in all stages of system testing:strategy, tool selection, test planning, test case/test data preparation, manual & automated execution, defect tracking.
- Experience across various testing systems,
including clinical systems, mission‑critical systems, high-volume
transactional systems in highly available environments.
- Using structured methodologies for application
development, design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Conducting functional and non-functional testing
of:
- COTS solutions (patches, releases,
enhancement request acceptance, regression testing)
- In-house web applications
- HL7-FHIR web services
(RESTFUL/JSON/XML)
- APIs
- Reporting solutions
- Integration components, extensions,
enhancements
- Testing security components including SAML and JWT.
- Creating system testing documentation: test
strategies, test plans, test use cases, test scripts.
- Developing automated test scripts (e.g., using Selenium framework).
- Using API testing tools (e.g., Rational ClearQuest,
SOAP‑UI, POSTMAN) or programming languages.
- Conducting ETL process testing and using SQL/data
retrieval/ad‑hoc query tools and data migration tools.
- Using enterprise-level performance testing tools
(e.g., LoadRunner).
- Producing test results reports, including
performance and security testing results, for defect reviews.
- Validating successful deployments and preparing
testing result reports.
- Performing business scenarios and cross-system
integration testing on product modules (e.g., Ontario Health Client
Registry, Provider Registry, Audit Services).
- Reviewing technical and business requirements from
a testing perspective, including BI solutions.
- Executing automated scripts.
- Experience working in traditional and agile
environments using DevOps processes.
- Experience with at least one programming language.
- Experience with all phases of SDLC.
- Identifying issues early in the SDLC through
documentation reviews.
- Understanding information management principles,
concepts, policies, and practices.
Logging,
Tracking & Defect Reporting

federal/provincial/broader public-sector healthcare providers.
- Knowledge of Public Sector Enterprise Architecture
artifacts and ability to produce compliant technical documentation.
- In-depth knowledge of standards such as PMI and
Public Sector I&IT project management methodologies.
- Experience with Public Sector health-related
projects.
- Understanding of Ministry policy and IT project
approval processes and requirements.
- Experience with Public Sector Unified I&IT
Project Methodology, Public Sector Enterprise Architecture, Public Sector
Gating process, and OPS Standard Systems Development Methodologies.
- Experience with large, complex IT Health-related
projects.
