The Transfer Agency Transformation squad is seeking an ambitious and analytical Systems Business Analyst Intern to support our core infrastructure operations. You will act as a bridge between our business stakeholders and our technical development teams, focusing on data accessibility, reporting, and integrity within our  ecosystem. This role is critical in helping our business users extract actionable insights from complex financial data systems. 

This role reports to: Senior Manager, Transfer Agency Transformation - Squad Lead

This role is hybrid (2-3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.

Key Accountabilities

• Report Generation & Data Querying: Assist the business in defining report requirements and writing SQL-based queries to extract data.

• Data Dictionary Management: Support the ongoing maintenance of data dictionaries . Assist in documenting field attributes, relationships, and data structures to ensure clear communication between the business and developers.

• Data Security & Governance: Work under the guidance of senior team members to ensure data security standards are maintained, including the removal or masking of sensitive fields (e.g., SIN/TIN) in reporting environments.

• User Support & Enablement: Serve as the first point of contact for business users experiencing issues with reporting tools. Help troubleshoot integration challenges and assist with user onboarding.

• Technical Documentation: Create and update documentation that explains how business applications interact with backend systems. Assist in mapping requirements from business units to technical specifications.

• Squad Collaboration: Participate in BA Squad meetings, assist in documenting ServiceNow tasks, and help manage the lifecycle of requests from business initiation to production support.

Must Have(s)

• Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Business Technology Management, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field

• Technical Aptitude: Strong interest in data structures, database management, and query languages. Prior experience or academic coursework in SQL is highly preferred.

• Analytical Rigor: Ability to understand complex data requirements and translate them into simple, readable outputs.

• Tool Proficiency: Google Sheets / Excel skills (familiarity with data imports, pivots, and add-ins is a plus).

• Communication: Demonstrated ability to act as a translator between non-technical business users and technical development teams.

• Detail-Oriented: A disciplined approach to documentation and adherence to data privacy and security standards.

Nice to Have(s)

• Knowledge of IT service management tools (ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence).

• 12 month Co-op / Internship: September 8, 2026 - September 10, 2027

​Salary Range: 25/hour - 28/hour CAD
