About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on, proactive System Administrator to own and scale our internal IT infrastructure and SaaS ecosystem. In this role, you will be the backbone of our day-to-day technology operations and ensuring our servers, networks, and enterprise applications run reliably, securely, and at peak performance.

Beyond keeping the lights on, you will drive meaningful improvements: streamlining onboarding and offboarding, automating repetitive tasks, managing vendor relationships, and partnering with engineering to deliver the right tooling for a fast-growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and takes pride in continuously improving systems and processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end IT onboarding and offboarding lifecycle, provision accounts, devices, and access on Day 1, and execute secure, timely offboarding with full access revocation and asset recovery
  • Build and maintain repeatable workflows, runbooks, and checklists for user lifecycle management to ensure consistency, speed, and zero gaps
  • Manage and configure internal SaaS applications including Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra (MyApps), BambooHR, Atlassian (Jira), Salesforce, and Freshworks
  • Administer identity and access management (IAM) across all systems, enforcing role-based access controls (RBAC), SSO, and MFA
  • Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and operating systems across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments
  • Set up and manage data backup, business continuity, and disaster recovery solutions
  • Lead vendor management and software license administration including contract negotiations, renewal cycles, cost optimization, and vendor performance reviews
  • Evaluate new tools, assess product requirements, and lead procurement decisions in partnership with Finance and department stakeholders
  • Provide front-line IT support including daily operations, deskside support, hardware/software troubleshooting, and service provisioning
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose infrastructure and tooling solutions
  • Deploy, monitor, and maintain internal infrastructure used across the organization; proactively identify and act on opportunities for improvement
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across the organization with urgency and clear communication
  • Administer enterprise network environments including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or Bash to eliminate manual work and improve operational efficiency
  • Apply cybersecurity best practices including patch management, endpoint protection, and regular access audits

About You

  • 2–3 years of relevant hands-on IT administration experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience owning and improving employee onboarding and offboarding workflows at scale
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and software contracts including negotiating renewals, pricing, and SLAs with confidence
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, DHCP, and common protocols
  • Hands-on experience setting up and managing systems from scratch, including Windows, Linux, and macOS environments
  • Working knowledge of identity and access management (Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, SSO, MFA)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, patch management, and endpoint protection
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to triage and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, work effectively with vendors, and collaborate across teams
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive - document what you build, surface issues early, and follow through to resolution
  • A team player who builds strong working relationships across HR, Finance, Engineering, and external vendors

Certifications (Nice to Have)

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CCNA
  • RHCSA
