Job Title: Supervisor, Logistics  

Job Summary  
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Logistics Department and collaborating with all other departments to ensure outsourced loads are efficiently assigned and delivered promptly, maintaining a high standard of professionalism and meeting customer expectations.   

Responsibility  
  • Supervise, mentor, and support logistics staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to procedures.   
  • Forge relationships with carriers and build the existing carrier base.    
  • Establish rate schedules and maintain and monitor compliance items.   
  • Negotiate carrier rates to ensure profitability.   
  • Manage all specialized freight movements (oversize, airfreight, ocean) including coordination of special permits and customs clearances.   
  • Analyze logistics processes and identify opportunities for improvement to increase efficiency and reduce costs.   
  • Monitor and manage attendance, time-off schedules to ensure adherence to company policies.   
  • Prepare and deliver performance reviews.   

Academic/Educational Requirements 
  • Post-Secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field.   

Required Skills/Experience  
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics.  
  • Experience in a supervisory role an asset.   
  • Excellent computer skills including MS suite and working knowledge of dispatch software.  
  • Customer service oriented.   
  • Strong knowledge of inbound and outbound border crossing procedures.   
  • Strong geographical knowledge of North America.   
  • Knowledge of the handling and transportation of dangerous goods.   
  • Must be results oriented with ability to multitask and make decisions.
