Job Description
As a Steward at Scotiabank Arena, you will be a conduit between the culinary team and the warehouse team in helping get product where it needs to go. You will support the Food and Beverage Team by delivering orders to the right locations, and aiding in properly putting away the deliveries and assessing the quality of product being delivered. You will assist with receiving as needed to ensure timely service for events and venue outlets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Audit the culinary requisitions and the purchase order upon product arrival to verify order is accurate and in the correct volumes.
- Maintain safety protocols while in both warehouse and kitchen areas.
- Educate themselves on the products being used in our food service areas to ensure product knowledge and quality for our fans and teams.
- Receive and store deliveries; rotate stock per FIFO and maintain proper temperature controls.
- Maintain daily Purchase Order accuracy and communicate shorts immediately to the chef team.
- Follow food safety and HACCP/hand-washing procedures; hold required Food Handler certification.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous stewarding/culinary/kitchen porter experience desirable.
- Food Handler certificate preferred/required.
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs, stand for long periods and work in cold/wet conditions.
- Ability to push heavy carts from warehouse to kitchens.
- Team player, punctual, reliable, strong attention to cleanliness and safety.
- Shift work including early mornings, weekends, and holidays; event-driven.
- May require rapid pace during service windows.

$24.70 / hour
