About the role

As a Staff QA Engineer, you’ll lead the technical strategy for our central QA teams, focusing on automation and pipeline management. You’ll be responsible for defining the technology and approach, designing solutions that enable more tools and automation-based verification solutions to be leveraged by our Platform QA and Engineering teams. Working closely with Development and Test leadership, you will prioritize and lead a team of QA Engineers in building and maintaining our internal test infrastructure and custom tools & tests.

What you’ll achieve

  • Define the architecture for our central test framework, partnering with QA and Dev leaders in defining ongoing requirements
  • Build a suite of services and tests that provide ongoing verification of all our Platform Engineering projects and middle-ware tools
  • Support a growing set of QA Engineers across various responsibilities, from framework creation and maintenance to building advanced testing solutions and scripts
  • Define tooling and solutions that serve as best practices for Game QA automation efforts
  • Be part of the team defining the overall Fortis QA advanced test strategy for all projects

What You’ll Need to Be Successful

  • Proficiency in programming languages (JavaScript/TypeScript, C#, Python) and experience with front-end frameworks (React, Angular) and Node.js.
  • Experience in building or extending automation frameworks using libraries such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium WebDriver.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud services, including S3, EC2, and experience with messaging services.
  • Familiarity with RDBMS such as Postgres, preferably with  the ability to write SQL queries. Familiarity with MongoDB Atlas would be an asset.
  • Strong understanding of web and backend API testing automation.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment and understanding of CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
  • Experience working with infrastructure, DevOps and orchestration tools such as Terraform & Terragrunt.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple teams, identifying project requirements, and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Basic leadership skills to provide direction and mentoring for junior engineers.
  • Strong verbal and written English skills required for effective collaboration within a global team.
