Meet Benevity

Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!

High-Level Overview

Our Product team is looking for a Staff Product Designer to transform our donation experience into a world-class experience. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner, bridging design vision with technical feasibility and business goals. Your primary focus will be applying eCommerce-grade optimization, behavioural science, and a B2C mindset to our donation flows to ensure democratizing philanthropy is as seamless, intuitive, and impactful as the best consumer products in the world.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the evolution of our donation experience using optimization strategies and behavioural science to reduce friction and increase global giving impact.
  • Use deep qualitative and quantitative insights to define problems, evaluate design trade-offs, and measure impact, connecting user experience outcomes to business results.
  • Lead complex, cross-functional design explorations, facilitating workshops and working sessions that align Product, Engineering, Data, and Research around shared problem definitions and design direction.
  • Move beyond static mocks, ensuring AI-assisted discovery, design, and development cycles are guided by high-quality design standards and user-centered logic.
  • Steward and evolve the Skyline design system, identifying systemic gaps, influencing standards, and ensuring consistency, scalability, and accessibility across the product ecosystem.
  • Raise the bar and ensure high-quality deliverables with an unreasonable attention to detail and aesthetics. Lead critiques and model strong craft to elevate the team’s visual and functional standards.
  • Define success metrics for usability and impact. Use data and user feedback to drive continuous, quantifiable improvements in user conversion and retention.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to translate ambiguous problem spaces into clear, actionable solutions that are intuitive, elegant, and durable.

What you'll bring:

This is a staff-level role where you will be evaluated on your ability to drive product experience excellence. We are looking for:

  • You have a proven track record (10+ years) of building and scaling high-traffic consumer-facing products in ecommerce, fintech, or fundraising.
  • You understand the nuances of a checkout experience and know how to design for the "emotional high" of a transaction.
  • You have a deep understanding of the "math" of a transaction. You know how to analyze conversion funnels, identify drop-off points, and design for high-performance outcomes.
  • You don't just design amazing interfaces; you understand user psychology. You can articulate how psychological nudges and motivational design drive user action.
  • You are an opinionated tastemaker with an obsession for detail. You wield design fundamentals—typography, layout, and balance—to create interfaces that feel premium and trustworthy.
  • You demonstrate leadership that moves beyond your immediate team. You solve organizational problems, improve design processes, and can influence senior stakeholders through clear, data-backed storytelling.
  • You are a master of Figma and emerging AI-native tools, using them to move beyond static mocks to high-fidelity "living" prototypes.
  • Accessibility isn't an afterthought for you. You have deep knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 and a portfolio that proves you design for everyone.
  • You are a problem solver who requires very little guidance on projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have the ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage workloads, and meet project deadlines.
  • You are an excellent communicator and can clearly articulate your design decisions, ideas, and vision.
