Why this role?
This role will be responsible for assisting in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role will involve supporting month-end and year-end close processes, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the procure-to-pay and payroll processes, making sure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with US GAAP standards
- Process and manage expense reports, including review, coding, and reimbursement, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare payments on a weekly basis, ensuring all bills are paid in a timely manner
- Perform payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, salaries, and benefits in collaboration with team members
- Reconcile payroll accounts, calculate and process payroll adjustments, and ensure proper taxation and deduction of benefits
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including attendance, overtime, and paid time off, and provide support during audits or inquiries
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, with an emphasis on purchases and payables, payroll and cash
- Prepare and post journal entries, maintaining accurate documentation for various expense accounts, assets, accruals and inter-company transactions
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP accounting standards.
- Perform financial statement account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports
- Assist and project manage external audits and financial data requests by providing necessary documentation and explanations
You may be a good fit if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP)
- Proficiency in P2P processes, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment execution
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working at a startup in the SaaS and technology industry
- Big 4 audit experience
- Familiarity with NetSuite ERP
