Content Mining uses AI to transform webpages into Pinterest content like recipe and product pins. We’re looking for a sr MLE to develop systems that extract data from webpages and text.

Our ML Engineers research and develop ML systems that understand webpages. This problem space has many interesting approaches including graph neural networks, LLMs, NLP, computer vision and simple linear models. We’ve recently focused on using LLMs to create classification, generative and instruct model solutions. As an end to end team, we manage the entire ML lifecycle from data gathering to model training and serving.

What you’ll do:

  • Use Python, HuggingFace and PyTorch to train/develop models to extract data from webpages & text
  • Develop features to represent webpages
  • Employ strong software engineering skills to develop frameworks or tools to help productionize our models
  • Research ML/AI techniques to apply to our models
  • Evaluate accuracy and post launch impact
  • Mentor interns and other engineers

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of industry experience applying machine learning methods
  • Expertise in NLP applications like NER, information extraction and LLMs
  • Experience training and optimizing DNN models
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field such as computer science, or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

  • Publications at top ML conferences
  • Experience in large scale data processing systems like Presto or Spark
  • Experience building and managing text based datasets and labels


In-Office Requirement Statement:

  • We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
  • This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the province of Ontario.
