Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior HR Advisory Specialist (18-Month Contract) to act as trusted advisor to Distribution Centre leadership, providing expert guidance on Associate and Labour Relations matters while driving consistent HR practices across the business. The Sr Specialist partners with leaders, HR teams, and union representatives to navigate complex Associate relations issues, support investigations, and contribute to impactful projects that strengthen internal HR programs and processes. You’ll gain exposure to enterprise-wide HR projects, meaningful partnerships and the ability to make a tangible impact on business outcomes and the Associate experience.

What You’ll Do:   

  • This role provides Human Resources (HR) advisory consultation and guidance to business partners relating to Associate and Labour Relations for an assigned Distribution Centre (55 West Dr. Brampton, Ontario) and shift (10:30am until 9pm – EST).  

  • Delivers consistent administration of TJX Canada’s policies and practices.  

  • Supports investigations (violence, harassment, Open Door policy etc.), documents findings, creates case summaries for meetings, and develops recommendations for appropriate resolution; reviews & supports complex cases in partnership with HR Advisory Management. 

  • Manages joint meetings (ex: grievance meetings and negotiations) between the union and management; responds to queries, complaints and concerns from union representatives and leaders. 

  • Supports the execution of HR projects, program development, process improvement and technology upgrades to support HR priorities and operating model with a focus on being scalable and sustainable for future needs. 

  • Creates dashboards, develops reports and analyzes trends to provide business insights of Advisory work being done, leveraging ServiceNow and other platforms. Identified and interprets metrics applying professional experience and knowledge of the business to present meaningful data for use in presentations. 

  • Stays current with applicable employment and Labour laws, including legislative changes, case law, Associate and Labour Relations practices. 

  • Ensures appropriate privacy and confidentiality of Associate information, adhering to federal and provincial regulations and internal TJX Canada policies. 

  • Builds strong partnerships with People Leaders to drive impact, provide guidance and coaching; shares own experience and expertise with others. 

  • Develops and maintains a collaborative relationship with the union in support of short and long-term Labour strategies. 

About You: 

  • A minimum of five (5) years of related professional HR or Associate Relations/Labour Relations experience; ideally supporting a retail and/or distribution center/warehouse environment. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with interpreting Associate and Labour Relations, including the application of collective agreements, applicable employment legislation and regulations. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence business partners to prioritize activities and resources that meet organizational needs; builds rapport and credibility as a trusted advisor. 

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; leverages prior experience and adapts to changing work environments to provide solutions, make effective decisions, and revise strategies to support the vision of the department. 

  • Strong organizational and project management skills; determines project requirements, timelines and risks to launch and manage ongoing priorities, 

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle (to attend off-site meetings or mediations). 

  • Must have flexibility to support unanticipated events or support peak volume events across the year. 

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Salary Range: $ 76,620.00-$107,268.00 /year *This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
