Position Overview:
The Sr. Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for supporting the People and Culture initiatives at Viral Nation with a primary focus on employee relations, performance management, and training and development. In addition, the Sr. HRBP will support the general administration of the People & Culture function and other initiatives. We are looking for a dynamic, business-minded individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and who is excited about building and leading people-related strategies and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leaders and managers to design and implement people strategies that align with business objectives;
  • Own the talent management process in conjunction with divisional leadership, including conducting talent reviews, succession planning, training, and career development conversations;
  • Lead the compensation review process and provide salary recommendations, aligned to internal salary bands and external benchmarking data;
  • Act as the primary HR contact for employees and managers of your client groups, providing guidance on benefits, programs, and policies;
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) on labour laws and HR best practices. U.S. experience is considered an asset;
  • Manage all employee relations matters for your client groups, including performance improvement plans, investigations, and other sensitive cases with the partnership of the legal team;
  • Partner with department heads to effectively communicate policy updates, organizational changes, and key initiatives;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, PMO, Finance etc.) to drive strategic workforce outcomes;
  • Provide accurate, timely, and actionable HR data and insights for management decision-making;
  • Contribute to company culture initiatives, employee wellness programs, and professional development efforts;
  • Support workforce planning, talent development, and engagement strategies to enhance team performance;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience relevant experience;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field;
  • Experience working with teams in a hyper-growth environment;
  • Experience managing complex employee relations issues;
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies;
  • An understanding of both Canadian and US employment legislations;
  • Must exhibit proficiency in leadership, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills;
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality;
  • Able to meticulously maintain records and documentation;
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
