ROLE: Senior Director of Finance (Tracxtion)

ROLE OVERVIEW

As Senior Director of Finance, you will provide strategic leadership for the accounting function across Tracxtion's multi-entity operations throughout the United States and Canada. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, you will oversee enterprise financial reporting, accounting operations, revenue recognition, financial governance, audit readiness, and post-acquisition integration while building scalable financial infrastructure that supports organizational growth.

You will partner closely with executive leadership to strengthen financial controls, improve reporting capabilities, standardize accounting practices across agencies, and lead transformational initiatives that enable operational excellence and long-term business success.

COMPETENCIES

Financial Reporting & Enterprise Accounting

  • Establish the strategic direction for enterprise financial reporting and multi-entity accounting operations.
  • Lead consolidated financial reporting across North American entities while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Develop accounting policies and reporting standards that support organizational growth and scalability.
  • Ensure timely delivery of executive and investor financial reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting operations and financial reporting quality.

Revenue Accounting, Governance & Risk Management

  • Define enterprise revenue recognition policies across all agencies and service lines.
  • Strengthen financial governance through robust internal controls, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
  • Oversee audit strategy and regulatory compliance across US and Canadian operations.
  • Ensure consistency in project accounting, margin reporting, and financial transparency.
  • Monitor enterprise financial risk and implement proactive mitigation strategies.

Business Partnership & Operational Excellence

  • Partner with the VP Finance and Executive Leadership Team to support strategic business decisions.
  • Lead accounting integration activities for acquisitions, ensuring standardized financial policies and reporting structures.
  • Drive ERP optimization, automation, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Develop financial dashboards and KPIs that improve operational visibility and business performance.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to strengthen financial discipline across the organization.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead and develop Accounting Managers and senior finance leaders across the organization.
  • Build a high-performing, collaborative finance team focused on accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor future finance leaders through coaching, development planning, and succession management.
  • Champion innovation through technology, automation, and AI-enabled finance solutions.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Enterprise Accounting

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated close processes across all entities.
  • Oversee financial consolidations, foreign exchange translation, and intercompany eliminations.
  • Maintain enterprise accounting policies, technical accounting guidance, and reporting standards.
  • Deliver executive, Board, and investor reporting with timely financial insights.
  • Ensure accurate accrual accounting and integrity of financial data across all systems.

Revenue Accounting, Governance & Risk Management

  • Oversee enterprise revenue recognition across retainers, project-based work, milestone billing, and incentive-based contracts.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for work-in-progress, deferred revenue, accrued revenue, and contract liabilities.
  • Direct annual audit activities and maintain audit readiness across all entities.
  • Oversee compliance with US sales tax and Canadian GST/HST/QST requirements.
  • Strengthen enterprise internal controls, governance frameworks, and financial risk management.

Business Partnership & Operational Excellence

  • Partner with Finance and Operations leaders to improve financial performance and reporting accuracy.
  • Lead automation initiatives, ERP enhancements, and reporting improvements.
  • Standardize accounting processes and financial reporting across agencies.
  • Lead financial integration for acquired businesses, including systems, policies, and reporting alignment.
  • Develop financial metrics that improve margin visibility, working capital management, and operational performance.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting managers and finance professionals across multiple business units.
  • Drive performance management, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Foster collaboration across finance, operations, and executive leadership.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and scalability.
  • Build organizational capability through process optimization and technology adoption.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • CPA designation (Canada or US) required.
  • 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
  • Proven experience leading multi-entity accounting operations within a complex organization.
  • Experience within a marketing agency, media, professional services, or private equity-backed environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, consolidations, revenue recognition, internal controls, and audit management.
  • Demonstrated success leading finance transformation, ERP implementation, automation, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Experience presenting financial results to executive leadership, Boards, and investors.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance operational execution and strategic decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leveraging AI-enabled finance technologies and data analytics to improve reporting and operational performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • CPA designation (Canada or US) required.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, financial reporting platforms, and enterprise accounting software.
  • Ability to lead finance teams across North America in a hybrid work environment.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to support agency operations and integration initiatives.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $150,000–$175,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs. This range represents the expected base salary for this role and does not include other elements of Traxction's total rewards program.
