Job Description:

Are you an experienced cloud and analytics professional passionate about enabling enterprise‑scale analytics and machine learning platforms?

In this role, you will be accountable for the enablement, integration, and operation of the data science workbench, that supports data‑driven decision‑making across the organization. You will apply sound technical judgment, influence platform standards, and operate confidently in production environments.

You will support AI and ML tooling as enterprise platforms.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as SME for enterprise analytics and ML platforms 
  • Design, deploy, and support Data Science Workbench technologies such as AWS SageMaker AI, AWS SageMaker Unified Studio, R Studio, Dataiku, and Snowflake Cortex 
  • Build and maintain cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation) 
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and respond to incidents with root cause analysis 
  • Identify gaps and recommend solutions aligned to enterprise standards 
  • Execute platform upgrades and migrations with minimal disruption 
  • Partner with Security on vulnerability management and compliance 
  • Work in Agile, managing priorities via JIRA 
  • Apply DevOps and automation-first practices to improve reliability 
  • Support GenAI teams and leverage AI tools responsibly

Collaboration & Influence

  • Collaborate closely with Cloud, Security, Architecture, Data Science, and Analytics partners.
  • Provide guidance and informal mentorship to team members, as appropriate.
  • Influence platform standards, operational practices, and Digital WOW through active participation and thought leadership.

What You Need to Succeed

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience assessing trade‑offs, managing risk, and resolving complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated alignment to BOLDER behaviours, including:
    • Driving outcomes through ownership and accountability
    • Embracing Digital Ways of Working (WOW) and continuous improvement
    • Applying professional judgment with an enterprise mindset

Preferred Skills

  • Hands‑on experience with AWS core services (e.g., IAM, EC2, S3, networking) in production environments.
  • Experience supporting analytics or ML platforms such as SageMaker, Dataiku, Snowflake, or RStudio.
  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and operational efficiency.
  • Experience working in environments with strong security, privacy, and governance requirements.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
