What You'll Bring:

  • At least 8 years of experience in a technical business systems analyst role within the financial industry (credit or financial services, banks preferred)
  • Technically savvy; able to elaborate the requirements/story points with technical team effectively and contribute in solutioning
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a global/international highly matrixed environment
  • Good understanding of end-to-end systems delivery framework, including creation of business case, IT financials, impact analysis, assumptions, constraints, software development, quality assurance, risk management, production support, strategy, project management, collaboration with on/off- shore teams, solution/design authority, governance/gating artifacts
  • Strong process-orientation; can see the connections and integrations between different processes and the bigger picture of how it all fits together
  • Ability to communicate findings, recommendations, and project updates to stakeholders and executives; interact with internal business and external customers
  • Technical proficiency and skill level to learn and undertake new and emerging technology solutions
  • Experience with business process modelling, software development and documentation tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills coupled with technical aptitude
  • Demonstrated flexibility in dealing with change and adversity


Impact You'll Make:
In this role, you will serve as a Business Systems Analyst to enable the delivery of TransUnion Canada's services to customers and/or consumers. The role requires a technically savvy individual with strong collaborative skills required to own, manage, and deliver business and technology requirements for business and technology groups.
Successful incumbent will:

  • Be able to work with all systems delivery framework including agile, hybrid and waterfall
  • Work with product owners to capture business requirements, translate to technical needs using standard delivery templates
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements
  • Develop and document business process models to illustrate current and future state
  • Conduct detailed business process analysis and develop comprehensive process flow diagrams, user stories, functional specification documents, and use cases to facilitate system design and development
  • Obtain key inputs from subject matter experts (SMEs), architects, dependent teams and identify solution interdependencies. Accordingly, conduct system mapping and data mapping
  • Develop detailed user stories, story mapping, stakeholder analysis and acceptance criteria in collaboration with product owner
  • Clearly articulate and document business requirements to enable development and QA teams to deliver the required business & tech functions
  • Act as a liaison between business user and technical teams, translating business needs into technical specifications
  • Ensure enough prioritized backlog is available for the team before the agile scrum sprint starts
  • Create and maintain documentation regarding all aspects of the product, including product operations, compliance, product launch processes, and system functionality
  • Participate in design review and walk-through
  • Lead/support presentation/demonstration of new technology/product functionality to stakeholders and clients
  • Support testing teams/activities: test plan/case consultation and manage defect triage with appropriate application teams
  • Provide support during system implementation, including user training and post-implementation activities
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies


This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
