We are looking for an experienced, data-driven Sr. Benefits Analyst to be responsible for the administration and oversight of the Canada Honeywell Health & Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, etc.), Leave, Savings, Retirement and Pension programs for our active, retiree and pension population. In this role, you are providing operational support to standard work, delivering standardized and self-service HR solutions, and driving digital transformation initiatives forward. You will have a significant impact on optimizing HR processes, enhancing employee experience, and driving HR's digital transformation journey, ultimately contributing to the success and effectiveness of Honeywell's overall operations. Ensure operations are compliant with current government law and regulations in Canada, as well as with Honeywell policies. Leads a range of projects that have high visibility and vary in scope and complexity for ongoing work operations, assist in wellness initiatives, and supports benefit administration for acquired / divested employees. Leads the annual benefit enrollment process beginning to end, payroll requirements and audits, company match and pension annual audit. Partners with vendors for the operation of the various plans and processes, interacts and influences diverse internal key stakeholders, develops, and refines operating procedures, drives continuous improvement focusing on the key Honeywell initiatives of an excellent user experience of Right & Fast.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
- Provide precise end-to-end execution of HR services and processes to support strategic objectives.
- Manage our third-party vendors supporting Canada Health and Insurance, Leave Administration, Pension Plans, Savings and Retirement Benefits to ensure quality administration of plans and the customer experience, payments, audit completion, execution of reporting and filings and continuous improvement.
- Triage tier 3 level complex cases resolving unique and difficult issues around data, benefit plans, policies, systems, compliance, and presenting effective solutions.
- Play a lead project management role in the planning and execution of the Annual Pension Audit, Company Match, Union Plans, Annual Enrollment strategy, consisting of many key strategic pieces and post-year-end activities; partnering with Corporate C&B, vendors, Corporate Communications and the HRS operations teams on strategy design, developing an effective project plan and managing to the deliverables, improvements, testing with the vendor and key stakeholders, managing defects and escalations, ensuring stakeholder sign-off, documenting and implementing requirements, ensuring communications are clear and timely, monitoring and reporting on metrics, ensuring customer calls and experience are managed appropriately with the vendor, and ensure overall delivery of the annual cycle is a success.
- Maintain a log of open issues ensuring items are prioritized and escalated appropriately; complete and assist other team members with root cause analysis and issue resolution.
- Partner with Legal and Corporate Compensation & Benefit leaders on executing total well-being initiatives – case and plan reviews, recommendations for communication, ensuring plan and participant data accuracy, assists with audits and preparations of annual filings.
- Act in a consultative and project management role for strategic global activities such as vendor/plan renewals, RFPs, and benchmarking activities.
- Partner with key stakeholders and the HR M&A team on the execution of mergers, acquisitions and/or divestitures – understand business timelines, provide guidance on the lead time benefit plan set-up, vendor set-up, testing, integrations, etc., review company benefit plans and documentation in comparison to Honeywell’s plans and provide recommendations on processes, compliance, data mapping, communications, lead the projects preparation and execution and ensure post-close integration deliverables are executed.
- Prepare and review communication materials, summaries, summary plan descriptions/documents/Booklets, presentations, FAQs, marketing materials, including those required for legal and compliance standards. Partner with Corporate C&B and Corporate Communications to ensure benefit program communications are accurate and timely, including intranet and vendor content.
- Manage ServiceNow (Red) cases ensuring timely and accurate responses back to participants.
- Build easy and intuitive processes to enable right and fast delivery of benefit solutions.
- Research files, escalations, plan information, etc. leveraging multiple data sources, conducting data analysis and communicate findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
- Recommend enhancements and simplification of existing systems, processes and procedures based on trends, feedback, and experience.
- Ensures benefit processes are documented and opportunities for improvement are identified.
- Leads and/or assists with root cause analysis and developing corrective action strategies.
- Identify operational errors and areas of weakness in plan operations, support audit reports and relevant supporting documentation to present findings and improvements to leadership. Assist with developing corrective action strategies.
- Manage payroll reconciliations, escalations, leveraging multiple data sources, conducting data analysis, communicating findings, and making recommendations.
- Proactively identify problems and trends, along with solutions, which might be leading to increased volume of escalations or issues.
- Manage the claims and appeals process ensuring timely and accurate responses back to participants.
- Ensure compliance of Canada plans and programs per the plan documents, collective bargaining agreements, FSRA, and applicable provisions of the Canada Revenue Agency.
YOU MUST HAVE:
- 3 or more years of experience administering Canada benefits programs (health & welfare, leave, savings/retirement, and pension), including annual enrollment and vendor partnership.
- 3 or more years of project management experience managing deadlines, stakeholders, and multiple priorities.
- Experience working with union benefit plans and/or collective bargaining agreements.
- Knowledge of Canadian benefits-related compliance and risk considerations; able to interpret policies and apply them to cases.
WE VALUE:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Experience leading or supporting vendor management activities (e.g., renewals, RFP support, service reviews, SLA/metric reporting).
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups) and experience producing recurring reports/metrics.
- Experience performing audits/reconciliations and documenting processes (SOPs, workflows, job aids) in an HR/benefits setting.
- Experience independently troubleshooting benefits issues using plan rules, data, and systems (Tier 2/3 case resolution).
- HRIS reporting/transaction experience (e.g., Oracle HCM or similar).
- Case management experience (e.g., ServiceNow or similar)
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $105,000 in Markham, Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
