What you’ll be doing
The Senior Analyst, Data and Analytics is responsible for providing analytics support to Commercial Banking and Capital Markets business lines. This involves working with multiple stakeholders on data analysis, process engineering for automated workflows, BI reporting, advanced analytics that drives decision making, and Generative AI solutions. The candidate is expected to lead and manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards; comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels, and staying current with AI technology developments.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.
How you’ll succeed
- Business Analytics: Support Managers and Directors to support a variety of business requirements regarding Data, Analytics, Optimization, Business Intelligence, Process Automation, AI Solutions. Coordinate with the Business Lines and collaborate in the creation of a culture that promotes data-driven decision making.
- Innovation and Research: Engage with business partners to identify pain points, uncover opportunities, and translate complex business problems into actionable solutions using Generative AI and advanced analytics that enhance client outcomes, operational efficiency, and revenue growth — positioning CIBC at the forefront of analytics driven financial services.
- Communication: Support written communication by drafting a variety of documents describing all developed and developing models within division. Create professional PowerPoint or Power BI Dashboard covering regularly reports or special projects and proposals for senior management. Work collaboratively on special projects and assignments from other departments and provides professional support.
Who you are
- You demonstrate 1 to 3 years’ experience with SQL, Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate and Power Apps. Proficiency with Python and / or R, and cloud-based data solutions using Azure Databricks is a must. It’s an asset if you have exposure to LLM, AI agent frameworks and Front-End Development (e.g. JavaScript, HTML, Flask or FastAPI). Excellent research skills and analytical capabilities
- You have a degree (ideally Masters) with major in economics, statistics, finance, analytics, computer science, or a related area.
- You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
