Position Description:

The Solutions Engineer is a customer-facing technical sales professional responsible for partnering with Account Executives to win complex B2B opportunities across LBMX Trade and Supply Cloud. This role leads technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and technical validation, translating customer needs into practical solutions that align with LBMX capabilities. Working closely with Sales, Product, Customer Experience, and Implementation, the Solutions Engineer also helps ensure each customer is positioned for a successful transition from sales to delivery through complete solution documentation, implementation readiness, and effective knowledge transfer.

What you will do:

  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the sales cycle on enterprise opportunities across LBMX Trade and Supply Cloud.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer environments, business processes, trading partner ecosystems, EDI requirements, ERP integrations, rebate program structures, billing models, and operational workflows.
  • Design customer-specific solutions that align business objectives and technical requirements with LBMX platform capabilities.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations, solution workshops, and technical discussions tailored to customer use cases and audiences.
  • Serve as the technical expert during customer meetings, addressing integration, implementation, security, scalability, and platform capability questions.
  • Help articulate business value and ROI by connecting LBMX capabilities to automation, efficiency, data visibility, and customer outcomes.
  • Identify technical risks, assumptions, dependencies, and product gaps early in the sales cycle and communicate them clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain solution documentation, architecture diagrams, proposal content, technical responses, and discovery outputs for assigned opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Product teams to provide field feedback on customer requirements, competitive insights, and product gaps.
  • Own the technical handoff from Sales to Customer Experience and Implementation for assigned customers.
  • Ensure discovery findings, business requirements, proposed solutions, integrations, assumptions, commitments, and customer expectations are fully documented before project kickoff.
  • Participate in internal transition meetings and customer kickoff meetings, as appropriate, to ensure implementation teams are positioned for success.
  • Partner with the Chief Customer Officer, Customer Experience, and Implementation teams to improve implementation readiness, reduce delivery risk, and support a positive onboarding experience.
  • Contribute to standardized demo environments, discovery templates, solution design tools, and reusable technical content.
  • Support internal enablement by helping educate Sales and Customer teams on platform capabilities, use cases, and solution positioning.


What you will bring:   

  • 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solution Architecture, Professional Services, or a similar customer-facing technical role within a SaaS or B2B technology environment.
  • Experience supporting enterprise, multi-stakeholder sales cycles in partnership with Account Executives.
  • Strong understanding of B2B integrations, such as EDI, APIs, ERP connectivity, or complex data workflows.
  • Ability to translate customer business and technical requirements into practical solution designs.
  • Exceptional product demonstration, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect technical capabilities to measurable customer value.
  • Excellent written communication, documentation, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities while working effectively across Sales, Product, Customer Experience, and Implementation.
  • High degree of professionalism, initiative, accountability, and ability to work independently.


Compensation

Salary Range: $ annually, based on experience and qualifications
