Solutions Designer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Designer to lead the design of hosting technology solutions that align with service specifications, standards, policies, best practices, and cost models. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and high-availability solutions that support business requirements and project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Design hosting technology solutions based on business requirements, technical standards, and best practices.
  
• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements to develop effective technology solutions.
  
• Participate in solution development activities and provide guidance on short and long-term service development initiatives.
  
• Assess existing environments and recommend improvements for performance, capacity, scalability, and reliability.
  
• Develop technical specifications for installation, testing, integration, and performance validation.
  
• Design and support highly available, mission-critical enterprise applications and services.
  
• Evaluate technology trends, emerging products, and solutions to support organizational objectives.
  
• Conduct system evaluations and feasibility assessments for system expansion, modernization, or replacement.
  
• Prepare technical documentation and solution architecture artifacts.
  
• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  

Qualifications

Technical Skills (30%)

• 10+ years of experience in backend design and development using REST Web Services, JPA, Hibernate, databases, SQL, and PL/SQL.
  
• Strong expertise in enterprise integration architecture, patterns, technologies, design principles, and best practices.
  
• In-depth knowledge of Spring Framework, particularly Spring Integration.
  
• Experience designing and building enterprise integration solutions.
  
• Experience with message-oriented middleware and enterprise service bus technologies.
  
• Experience with integration technologies such as JMS, AMQP, and REST.
  
• Experience implementing integration solutions within cloud environments, including Azure.
  
• Strong understanding of Oracle and SQL Server databases.
  
• Experience with cloud-based integration solutions.
  

Development Skills (25%)

• 10+ years of experience in backend application design and development.
  
• Hands-on experience with APIs, message queues, middleware, and enterprise integration platforms.
  
• Experience designing technical solutions from business requirements using UML, JEE, Service Bus, and ETL technologies.
  

System Analysis (20%)

• Experience conducting system analysis, requirements gathering, and use case development.
  
• Experience creating prototypes and presenting solution concepts to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  

Communication Skills (15%)

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  
• Ability to lead discussions with both technical and business teams.
  
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and meet project deadlines.
  

Public Sector Experience (10%)

• Experience working within established Enterprise Architecture standards, documentation practices, and governance frameworks.
  
• Experience producing architecture artifacts and technical documentation in regulated environments.
  

Must-Have Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of large, complex CRM or commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems.
  
• At least 10 years of experience integrating J2EE applications with enterprise systems and platforms.
  
• Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of J2EE architecture.
  
• Hands-on experience with n-tier web applications, Unix, Shell Scripting, Ant Script, JavaScript, XML/XSD, XSL, HTML5, and source code management tools.
  
• Experience working with XSLT, XQuery, XPath, and transformation technologies, including debugging and development tools.
  
• Experience designing detailed functional and technical requirements for new and existing business solutions.
