Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support enterprise application testing initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning, developing, executing, and managing testing activities across multiple systems and environments to ensure high-quality software delivery.

This position requires strong experience in test planning, automated testing, defect management, performance testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on testing strategies, test plans, testing tools, and resource requirements.
  • Plan and organize testing efforts for large-scale systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test cases.
  • Execute functional, integration, system, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Validate system functionality and expected behavior under various operating conditions.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects using testing and defect management tools.
  • Collaborate with development teams to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve defects.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry-standard automation tools.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines where applicable.
  • Conduct performance, stress, and load testing to assess scalability and system reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility regulations and applicable quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with business analysts, project managers, developers, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain detailed testing documentation, quality metrics, and test coverage reports.
  • Contribute to user documentation and release-related materials.
  • Ensure testing processes comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

General Skills

  • Experience planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts.
  • Knowledge of structured software development, implementation, and maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience using automated testing tools and version control systems.
  • Experience executing functional, non-functional, and system integration testing.
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, practices, processes, and methodologies.
  • Experience creating testing strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data.
  • Experience with quality assurance across multiple testing types including integration, performance, load, and regression testing.
  • Strong understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of system, integration, regression, and acceptance testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to create clear, comprehensive, and effective test cases.
  • Experience with defect and test management platforms such as ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Selenium, Cypress, Postman, or similar testing tools.
  • Understanding of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
  • Experience using SQL queries for backend validation and data verification.
  • Understanding of software development and testing life cycles.
  • Experience supporting security testing initiatives.
  • Experience creating and managing test data strategies and environments.
  • Experience validating data integrity, consistency, migration, and transformation processes.
  • Experience developing and executing performance testing solutions using tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with at least one programming language.
  • Experience with information retrieval tools and packages.
  • Knowledge of testing methodologies within object-oriented environments.
  • Knowledge of Information Management principles and practices.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and regulations.
  • Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems.
  • Experience developing automated test scripts.
  • Experience testing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.

  • Experience following clearly defined testing strategies.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing automated test scripts.
  • Experience creating and executing complex test plans.
  • Experience coordinating defect management throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Experience supporting project managers and testing leads with testing-related activities.
  • Experience assisting with testing scope analysis and definition.
  • Experience contributing to overall testing strategies.
  • Experience conducting peer reviews of testing artifacts.
  • Experience reporting test results to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or participating in defect review processes.
  • Understanding of accessibility regulations and standards.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with functional, integration, and regression testing of web applications and reports.
  • Experience establishing testing entry and exit criteria.
  • Experience creating and maintaining test plans and test cases.
  • Expertise creating test data using automated tools such as SOAP UI, Swagger, and Postman.
  • Experience performing database verification using SQL.
  • Experience managing defects based on priority and severity.
  • Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing, including data creation and execution activities.
  • Knowledge of standard defect tracking processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources).

Must-Have Skills

  • Demonstrated system testing expertise through automated test script development.
  • Experience creating and executing complex testing plans.
  • Expertise coordinating defects throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Expertise creating test data using SOAP UI, Swagger, Postman, or similar tools.
  • Experience creating and managing project defects based on priority and severity.
