Responsibilities:

  • Deeply understand how developers use Node.js and TypeScript at BitGo to create optimal solutions and abstractions for their use cases, driving and evolving recommended practices.
  • Design, build, and optimize scalable platform services and Node.js-based tooling to support BitGo’s high-performance custody, wallet, and financial services platforms.
  • Provide and integrate the libraries, frameworks, and workflows that enable developers to build software efficiently within the BitGo ecosystem.
  • Develop tools and workflows to improve engineering velocity, including deployment pipelines, testing frameworks, and service abstractions.
  • Continuously improve operational excellence through a culture of learning and proactive investments in reliability and resiliency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain standards for API design, platform performance, and overall system architecture.

Required:

  • Deep expertise in Node.js, npm, and TypeScript, with a focus on developing reliable backend systems.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and familiarity with API lifecycle management.
  • Strong testing and debugging skills.
  • Proficient with Git, CI/CD tools, and agile development practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred:

  • Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience improving developer productivity through internal tooling or frameworks.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architecture and experience with event streaming platforms like Kafka.
  • Ability to create clarity and drive alignment across stakeholder groups.
  • A curious and proactive learner.
