What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java batch applications and microservices for Google Cloud Platform

  • Enhance existing applications and contribute to new initiatives

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications

  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs

  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization

  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, maintain high development and security standards

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud computing and Java development

What experience you need 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in Java development

  • Strong proficiency in modern Java development (JDK 17+) and cloud computing concepts

  • Development experience for GCP or other cloud platforms

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

What could set you apart

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Contributions to open-source projects

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Professional Developer)

  • Experience with Python

  • Experience with securely handling sensitive data (PII / PHI)

  • Proven track record of writing defect-free code
