We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer to build agentic AI solutions tailored to our financial services clients. You will combine software development and data analysis to create applications that use AI agents to support business workflows. Working alongside consultants, business analysts and engineers, you will turn client needs into working software. You will also be responsible for developing rapid agentic proofs of concepts and prototypes and demo them to clients. You will have opportunities to learn new technologies and apply them across consulting projects.
About the job:

• Build and test agentic AI solutions for financial services workflows using TypeScript and Python.
• Develop user interfaces, backend services and APIs that connect AI agents with business systems and data.
• Work with consultants, business analysts and engineers to turn client requirements into practical software solutions.
• Prepare, transform and analyze data using Python and SQL, checking data quality and validating results.
• Build proofs of concept and help present them to clients, explaining the approach, findings and limitations.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs), tools and data retrieval into agent workflows, with guidance from experienced engineers.
• Write maintainable code, unit and integration tests, and technical documentation; participate in code reviews and releases.
• Troubleshoot application and data issues, evaluate agent outputs and follow established security and data privacy practices.
• Learn and apply new technologies quickly, adapting to different platforms and client needs across consulting projects.

Job requirements
About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field with a strong computer science foundation
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, time and space complexity, and object-oriented programming
• Hands-on experience with both TypeScript and Python through coursework, internships, personal projects or professional work
• Good data analysis skills, including using Python and SQL to explore datasets, identify patterns and assess data quality
• Ability to use Git for version control and collaboration, including branching, commits, pull requests and resolving merge conflicts
• Basic understanding of cloud computing, including compute, storage and access controls on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with web applications, REST APIs and relational databases
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical ideas clearly and contribute to client demonstrations
• Analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail when debugging code, validating data and testing solutions
• A quick learner who adapts rapidly to new technologies, frameworks and changing requirements
• A collaborative approach, willingness to seek feedback and a commitment to writing clean, maintainable code
  

It’s a plus if you have:

• Experience building AI agents or agentic workflows through coursework, personal projects, internships or professional work
• Experience using AI coding agents to develop, debug and test software, with careful review of generated code
• Examples of your work on GitHub, such as personal or academic projects or open-source contributions, that demonstrate your coding and      problem-solving skills
• Experience with React or a similar frontend framework
• Exposure to data pipelines, data modeling or visualization tools
• Familiarity with Agile delivery, automated testing, CI/CD or Docker
• Interest in financial services and applying AI to real business problems

The salary range in Toronto for this role is $80,000 - $120,000
