Position: Software Developer - Full Stack

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Developer - Full Stack to support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications. The successful candidate will work across front-end and back-end technologies, develop scalable web solutions, build APIs, support database integrations, and participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and continuously expand data pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) activities.
  
• Translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications.
  
• Develop detailed programming specifications and write and/or generate code.
  
• Compile and maintain data-driven programs.
  
• Conduct unit testing and support application maintenance.
  
• Resolve and troubleshoot technical issues arising during the use and operation of software packages.
  
• Provide technical assistance during implementation, conversion, and migration activities.
  

Required Qualifications

General Technical Skills

• Experience in programming and analysis.
  
• Ability to collaborate with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
  
• Experience with structured methodologies for application development, design, implementation, and maintenance.
  
• Experience designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting applications.
  
• Experience using object-oriented and/or third-generation language development tools.
  
• Experience with one or more programming languages.
  
• Experience with application design, design patterns, deployment, and troubleshooting.
  
• Experience with relational and hierarchical database technologies.
  
• Experience using information retrieval packages and query languages.
  
• Experience with communications protocols.
  
• Experience eliciting and documenting requirements from business stakeholders and subject matter experts.
  
• Experience with application architecture, front-end and back-end integration, and API development.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and meet deadlines.
  

Full Stack Development Skills

• Proficiency in both front-end and back-end development.
  
• Experience with database design and management.
  
• Knowledge of DevOps practices.
  
• Experience designing and implementing overall web architecture.
  
• Experience implementing user interfaces and deploying databases.
  
• Knowledge of scalable application design and performance optimization.
  
• Experience designing and developing REST API services.
  
• Experience integrating front-end user interfaces with APIs.
  
• Knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing internet-ready applications.
  
• Knowledge of Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
  
• Understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  
• Experience with middleware and gateway technologies.
  
• Experience reviewing, analyzing, modifying, testing, and debugging installation scripts.
  
• Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolution of technical issues.
  
• Experience conducting design walkthroughs with project teams.
  
• Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and regulations.
  
• Experience creating user and system documentation.
  

Front-End & Integration Experience

• Strong experience with React.
  
• High level of knowledge of Angular and JavaScript.
  
• Strong understanding of front-end interface development.
  
• Experience creating reusable, testable, and modular Angular components.
  
• Experience developing responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular.
  
• Experience building user interactions and integrating web applications with backend services.
  
• Fundamental knowledge of UX/UI principles.
  
• Experience developing front-end code that interacts with APIs.
  
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and Swagger.
  

Back-End & Platform Experience

• Experience with Java programming and web application technologies including WebLogic, Tomcat, EJB, and Servlets.
  
• Strong database experience with Oracle and SQL Server.
  
• Experience with REST and SOAP web services.
  
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience developing and managing solutions using Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
  
• Experience building forms using AEM.
