About the Job:
LaunchDarkly is seeking a Social Media Specialist to join our Marketing Team. Reporting to the VP of Content and Communications, this role will activate and engage with our growing community over all key social media channels.
The Social Media Specialist’s objective is to achieve exceptional customer and community engagement, drive brand loyalty and awareness, and create memorable and creative moments that elevate experiences for our developer and engineering leadership audiences.
Our ideal candidate has demonstrated creative and analytical instincts–you tell a story through your social interactions and understand the important thread our social channels play in both driving our brand narrative and business results.
As the key owner of our social strategy, you live and breathe changes in the social landscape and focus on setting trends, not chasing them. You’re excited to create internal enthusiasm for social content creation and for being a key lever of our marketing and brand strategy.
Responsibilities:
-
Build and execute LaunchDarkly’s social media strategy through competitive research, benchmarking, messaging, and audience identification
-
Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (text, imagery, UGC video, etc.) that builds meaningful connections and engagement within our developer and CIO communities
-
Create thoughtful editorial calendars to ensure balance and dynamism in our posting schedule
-
Seek continuous improvement by capturing and analyzing appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and taking action on the results
-
Collaborate with PR, Creative, Dev Experience, Sales, Support, Events, and other departments across LaunchDarkly to ensure representation, accuracy, and to increase ideation and internal advocacy
-
Stay on top of current trends in the market to test new platforms, strategies, and engagement techniques
-
Travel to select Tier 1 and company events to capture and post timely content
-
Engage with industry influencers to identify key partnership opportunities
-
Study our competitive landscape to understand new channel opportunities and evolutions to our program
-
Success in this role entails increasing collective content output, improving quality and consistency of content releases, and ensuring an elevated brand experience for our end users
About You:
-
Team-Oriented: You excel at collaborating across the company. You can move easily between business stakeholders, product development and marketing teams and are motivated by achieving success as a team.
-
Great Communicator: You have a natural ability to build relationships with cross-functional team members and are a master of the written word, with excellent attention to detail.
-
Startup Mentality: You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you need to balance multiple projects and prioritize your work both short and long term.
-
Data-inspired: You appreciate the balance of quantitative and qualitative analysis and you use that analysis to make informed recommendations.
-
Bias for action: You seek necessary inputs, but don’t strive for perfection or solving 100% of the problem before you dive in and start creating.
-
Positively Inclined Problem-Solver: You see challenges as opportunities, lead with answers, assume best intent, and present with empathy.
Qualifications:
-
Past demonstrated experience in a social media role at a developer-focused tech company (enterprise and DevOps experience strongly preferred)
-
Demonstrated expertise strategically owning LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and TikTok channels with fluency in social media roadmap creation and attribution
-
Video and image editing skills – you’re comfortable in front of and behind the camera and can put your creative skills to use in partnership with our Brand and Creative Team
-
Impeccable detail orientation–you can keep track of multiple work streams and calendars at once
-
Hyper communicative–you work across multiple stakeholders and can anticipate requests and ideas before they happen and communicate as such
Specific Requirements:
-
2+ years in a similar role
-
Willingness to work from Bay Area office
-
Occasional travel to domestic events
-
Must be authorized to work in US / Canada (no visa sponsorship / relocation)
Pay:
Target pay range for a Level P2 in San Francisco/Bay Area: $93,000 - $109,000*

About LaunchDarkly:
Modern software delivery was supposed to be the foundation for a thriving digital business but reality has proven otherwise. Slow, inefficient development cycles, costly outages, and fragmented customer experiences are preventing developers from building their best software. The LaunchDarkly platform helps developers innovate on new features faster while protecting them with a safety valve to instantly rewind when things go wrong. Developers can target product experiences to any customer segment and maximize the business impact of every feature. And by gradually rolling out new application components, they escape nightmare "big-bang" technology migrations.
The LaunchDarkly platform was built to guide engineers to the next frontier of DevOps by:
- Improving the velocity and stability of software releases, without the fear of end customer outages
- Delivering targeted experiences by easily personalizing features to customer cohorts
- Maximizing the business impact of every feature through the ability to experiment and optimize
- Coordinating the release and optimization of software to provide consistent experiences across mobile platforms and device types
- Improving the effectiveness and productivity of engineering teams, by providing insights into engineering cadence and stability
