Reporting to the Director, Shareholder Services, the Shareholder Services Specialist is a dedicated, customer-facing role responsible for the delivery of high-quality shareholder services for Manulife’s global shareholder base.

This role requires a unique combination of advanced communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to resolve complex or sensitive shareholder matters. The Specialist plays a critical role in building trust, resolving issues efficiently, and reinforcing Manulife’s customer-first culture.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for shareholder inquiries, providing timely, accurate, and professional responses.

  • Manage complex and escalated shareholder matters requiring nuanced judgment and effective communications skills.

  • Oversee day-to-day interactions with the Company’s transfer agent, including escalation and resolution oversight.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external capital markets providers across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Support the planning and execution of the annual meeting of shareholders and policyholders.

  • Manage confidential shareholder correspondence and historical shareholder records.

  • Prepare and maintain tracking, reporting, and procedural documentation related to the Shareholder Services Department

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within a financial services environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive, complex, and emotionally charged matters.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing deadlines.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in business, finance, law, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • Securities industry knowledge considered an asset

  • Bilingual English/French preferred

Salary range is expected to be between

$55,125.00 CAD - $91,875.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
