Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer with active Reliability Security Clearance to create accessible, user-centred experiences for citizen-facing Salesforce portals and internal case-management applications. The successful candidate will design clear and consistent user journeys while working within Salesforce Experience Cloud, Lightning Web Components, OmniStudio, and Salesforce Lightning Design System constraints. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver accessible, responsive, and user-friendly digital solutions that meet Government of Canada digital design expectations and WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.


** Mandatory- Security Clearance: Candidates should have a valid Government of Canada Reliability Status (Reliability Security Clearance).


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Design user journeys for claim intake, evidence submission, application status, reassessments, appeals, financial forms, correspondence, and document management.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, user research, journey mapping, usability reviews, and design-validation sessions.
  • Produce wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity mock-ups, responsive layouts, navigation models, and developer specifications.
  • Apply the Salesforce Lightning Design System and Government of Canada digital design expectations.
  • Design accessible forms with logical grouping, instructions, conditional fields, validation, error messages, save-and-return functionality, and submission confirmations.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements, including keyboard navigation, screen readers, focus management, colour contrast, zoom, responsive behaviour, and content structure.
  • Support bilingual English and French layouts, including text expansion, labels, help content, notifications, and error messages.
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Administrators, accessibility specialists, QA resources, and product owners.
  • Review implemented functionality and document visual, usability, accessibility, responsive-design, and consistency defects.
  • Maintain reusable design components, interaction patterns, standards, and design-system documentation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, demonstrations, testing, release readiness, and post-production reviews.
  • Deliver journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, responsive designs, accessibility annotations, bilingual layouts, design-system components, developer handoff specifications, usability findings, defect reports, and knowledge-transfer materials.


Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Digital Design, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of UI/UX design experience.
  • Minimum 2 years designing Salesforce Experience Cloud or comparable enterprise portals.
  • Experience designing at least two complex transactional digital services.
  • Experience designing citizen, claimant, benefits, regulatory, grants, licensing, health, or case-management portals.
  • Demonstrated experience applying WCAG 2.1.
  • Experience with responsive design, bilingual applications, user research, journey mapping, prototyping, usability testing, and information architecture.
  • Experience applying the Salesforce Lightning Design System or another enterprise design system.
  • Experience collaborating with Salesforce development, business analysis, administration, accessibility, QA, and product teams.
  • Experience maintaining operational, configuration, security, and release documentation.
  • Experience using Government of Canada tools such as Jira and MS TEAMS.

  • CPACC.
  • Web Accessibility Specialist.
  • Nielsen Norman Group certification.
  • Comparable user-experience and accessibility credentials.
