American Tall is a thriving e-commerce brand, dedicated to producing world-class quality clothing for tall men, and women, up to 7’1. Founded by a father and son duo in 2015, the business has grown to a level that seemed almost unimaginable just a few years ago and is now a leading brand in the tall community. The growth can be attributed to the excellent leadership team and family values that drive the business – respect, passion, support, and empowerment.

We believe the best ideas come from a diverse group of people. This is a special opportunity to join an innovative business with tremendous upside, and a work culture built on the foundation of respect, inclusiveness, and continued learning.

As the Senior Technical Product Manager for our DTC ecommerce brand, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our product strategy and driving the development of innovative solutions that align with our customers' needs and business goals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences, manage the product lifecycle, and continuously refine our offerings. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a robust technical background, experience with Shopify, and familiarity with surrounding systems and integrations, along with a successful track record in product management within the ecommerce space.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Application & Platform Strategy Ownership  Own the strategy, lifecycle, and evolution of core ecommerce supporting applications and platforms, ensuring technology investments align with business strategy, growth plans, and operational priorities.
  • Enterprise Architecture & System Clarity  Create, maintain, and communicate a shared, trusted view of enterprise architecture—documenting how systems integrate, scale, and evolve across Shopify, ERP, WMS, analytics, and third-party services. Act as a steward of system coherence and long-term technical health.
  • Application & System Roadmaps  Develop and manage multi-year application and system roadmaps that balance innovation, scalability, reliability, and technical debt, proactively planning platform evolution rather than reacting to issues.
  • System Knowledge & Transparency (SharePoint Wiki Ownership)  Establish and govern a centralized system knowledge repository (SharePoint Wiki) that captures application purpose, integrations, data flows, dependencies, risks, and ownership—eliminating tribal knowledge and reducing dependency on individuals.
  • Cross-Functional & IT Collaboration  Partner closely with engineering, IT, operations, marketing, and external vendors to deliver system enhancements, integrations, and platform improvements across the full technology ecosystem.
  • Agentic AI Exploration & Enablement  Identify, evaluate, and pilot agentic AI solutions that automate workflows, improve operational decision-making, and scale internal capabilities across ecommerce, marketing, customer experience, and back-office functions.
  • Business & Market Alignment  Assess business needs, operational pain points, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for system optimization, automation, and differentiation.
  • Requirements, Prioritization & Governance  Translate business and operational needs into clear, prioritized requirements using ROI, scalability, risk, and impact-based frameworks; ensure alignment across stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication & Technology Translation  Serve as the bridge between business and technology, clearly communicating system capabilities, trade-offs, risks, and opportunities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Standards, Best Practices & Continuous Improvement  Champion best practices in application management, documentation, architecture, and governance to drive consistency, resilience, and long-term operational excellence.

Experience, Education & Designations

  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, application management, or platform ownership roles within ecommerce or complex digital ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise or multi-application platforms, including responsibility for system evolution, integrations, scalability, and long-term roadmap planning.
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify and surrounding enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, WMS, OMS, PIM, payment platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Proven experience creating and maintaining enterprise architecture views, system diagrams, and integration documentation that provide clarity across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience leading or contributing to application and system roadmap planning, balancing innovation, technical debt, operational stability, and business priorities.
  • Exposure to AI-driven automation, decision support tools, or agentic AI concepts, with experience evaluating, piloting, or scaling AI-enabled workflows preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, integration patterns (APIs, middleware, event-driven systems), and cloud-based architectures.
  • Certifications in Product Management, Agile, or Technology certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe, PMP, ITIL, or cloud platform certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure) are an asset.

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product success.
  • Analytical Skills: Experience in data analytics and user experience design to inform product decisions.
  • Market Awareness: Familiarity with emerging technologies and e-commerce market trends.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
