About the Opportunity:

Toppan Merrill is hiring a Senior Technical Architect to join our team Ontario Canada team.   You will design and implement cloud-based solutions that align with our business objectives and technology roadmap. You will collaborate closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand their requirements, develop architectural designs, and provide oversight to ensure technical development teams deliver solutions that meet our business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product owners and specific business area SMEs to identify and design technical solutions for a new product in the e-commerce and Digital Asset Management space.
  • Architect and ultimately own the technical solution for a new cloud-native application in Azure which will be a combination of greenfield services, open-source software, legacy brownfield code and internal integrations.
  • Quickly analyze and come up to speed with existing systems and codebases.
  • Participate in discovery sessions, working in lock-step with product and business leadership to understand existing business processes and identify requirements
  • Help decide and balance what work we develop in-house vs what we give to give to external vendors, and you will work with development teams to ensure a successful release.

About You:

  • 10+ years of experience in software development
  • 3+ years of experience in a architecture role: web development and SaaS platforms
  • Experience in Ecommerce platform development or Digital Asset Management platforms (both a major plus)
  • Experience working with multiple languages, ideally with a strong background in Java
  • Experience designing and deploying cloud-native workloads, with Azure experience a plus
  • Experience in microservice architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, with AKS as a plus)

Benefits:

We understand that your skills deserve recognition. That's why we offer a competitive pay scale ranging from [$120,000 to $170,000 Canadian annually, based on experience and expertise. We believe in compensating our dedicated team members fairly for their hard work and commitment. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location.
