Job Description:

Position Purpose Summary:

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management, support, and optimization of the organization’s network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. Acting as a subject matter expert (SME), this role ensures reliable, secure, and high-performing network services that support business operations.

This role is primarily operational, with opportunities to contribute to network design, improvements, and evolving architecture, helping modernize the environment in line with business needs and industry best practices.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and wireless environments.

  • Ensure reliable connectivity and performance across LAN/WAN and cloud-integrated environments.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, serving as an escalation point for complex incidents.

  • Support implementation of network upgrades, refreshes, and new deployments.

  • Contribute to network design and continuous improvement initiatives focused on scalability and performance.

  • Manage and maintain network security controls including firewalls, VPNs, and secure access configurations.

  • Perform network monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning activities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of network topology, configurations, and processes.

  • Support hybrid connectivity, including Azure networking and integration with on-prem infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams to support overall IT operations and projects.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

  • Five (5+) years of experience in network administration within enterprise environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience managing Fortinet and Cisco Meraki firewalls.

  • Strong experience with FortiSwitch and switching infrastructure. Experience supporting wireless environments including FortiAP and Ubiquiti (UniFi) access points.

  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, and subnetting.

  • Experience with network security concepts including firewall rules, VPNs, and segmentation.

  • Exposure to cloud networking, particularly Microsoft Azure (VNets, hybrid connectivity).

  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Familiarity with routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) is an asset.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Compensation:

The target hiring range for this position is $85,321.60 to $106,641.60 with a maximum of $127,982.40.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
