The International Income Tax Senior Consultant (“Senior Consultant”) is responsible for preparation and review of international tax planning documents and presentations, researching tax issues, responding to client requests, reviewing certain international tax compliance, and other special tax projects. This includes performing and supervising such tasks as researching tax law, documenting planning ideas, and completing detailed models and calculations. This is a unique opportunity to be exposed to many different areas of international income tax and gain experience in both compliance and consulting.

The Income Tax Compliance Senior Consultant (“Senior Consultant”) works with federal and international income tax returns , identifies Canadian tax issues and provides tax analysis for a wide variety of entities and their affiliates. The Senior Consultant works closely with other team members and also must be able to work independently when required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists Manager in developing project workplans and scheduling income tax compliance, accounting tax provision, and tax planning services for corporate and partnership clients.
- Works effectively in a complex, deadline-driven environment.
- Prepares and files original and/or amended federal, provincial, and international corporate and partnership income, withholding, and information tax returns.
- Responds to client inquiries and requests from government agencies.
- Travels to client locations to gather information and copy documents.
- Reviews documentation and researches federal and provincial tax return issues.
- Works with raw data to complete calculations and tax returns.
- Prepares and reviews Canadian accounting tax provisions.
- Works well in a collaborative and teaming environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Minimum 2-4 years of Canadian tax professional services experience in a tax environment to include T2, complex tax returns and tax schedules.
- Tax provisions and tax research experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of federal, provincial, and cross-border Canadian income tax.
Professional Skills:
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Corporate Tax Prep.
- Proficiency in Microsoft® Excel, Microsoft® Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
Compensation:
- For certain British Columbia based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $61,000-$75,000
- The Company makes offers based on many factors, including qualifications and experience.
