Role and Responsibilities

The Senior Specialist, Process Innovation will be responsible for diagnosis of operational / process issues, determine improvement points for sales, logistics and operations teams and drive these projects through to completion via classical project management and new agile methodology.  This position will be responsible to develop and execute the project plan in order to support Samsung Electronics Sales divisions and their Support divisions within a matrix organization: Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain (SCM)/Retail Management, Logistics, Finance and Service.  

This person will focus on value added projects to optimize the functional processes and the operational systems based on data driven analytical skills.  The position will be a key liaison between internal Samsung Electronics Canada (SECA) (Sales & Marketing, SCM, Logistics, Business Operations Center (BOC), Information Services, Finance and Service) and external SECA such as Headquarters (HQ)/North American Headquarters (NAHQ)/ Samsung Data Services (SDS) / Customers / Vendors on projects they lead. 

In addition, there will be other opportunities to lead or participate in HQ projects & new system roll-out where their expertise can be applied. This position will be responsible for project plan developments, initiatives and internal approval/consensus guidelines as related to process change and assurance of compliance with HA/NAHQ guidelines and KPI results, including revenue and profit generation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and management of new Process Innovation Projects related to operations optimization and process efficiency.
  • Ensures execution of projects developed and demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills to engage with peers, customers, and senior management.
  • Creative problem solver that has the ability to break down complex problems into meaningful parts in order to identify solve for improvement areas.
  • Responsible for the adoption and coordination of new operational process or system changes ensuring alignment to HQ guidelines.
  • Responsible to establish timelines, ownership, key milestones and to follow-up with stakeholders on all deliverables.
  • Responsible to resolve escalations through interaction with all levels within Sales and Marketing, SCM, Logistics, BOC, Finance and Service to ensure that needs are identified and immediate resolution found for critical SCM operational  barriers.
  • Assessing potential set of solutions and making recommendations.
  • Training and Testing for new Process or functional system delivered by project.
  • Data and Work flow Analysis.
  • Review and Coordinate the updates of new policies and procedures in GPPM.
  • Responsible to present ideas and concepts in addition to gaining consensus from all levels of the organization.

Skills and Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, required

Knowledge:

  • Bilingual in English and Korean is an asset
  • Knowledge of ERP such as SAP (3+ Years SAP Experience (LE, SD, FI, or CO) an asset
  • Knowledge of EDI and Business Systems an asset
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Outlook),
  • Knowledge of BI Tools suite is an asset (Strong Excel VBA, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Strong data analysis, analytical skills
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface at all levels within the organization, including facilitation consultation, negotiation and influencing skills to impact decisions
  • The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple assignments and projects.
  • The ability to work in a team environment to identify and achieve team project goals and results, including the completion of assignments within established time frames.

Experience:

  • 5+ Years Advanced Project Management experience (PMP, Agile) desired
  • 3+ Years SAP Experience (LE, SD, FI, or CO) desired
  • 5+ years of work related experience in supply chain management, logistic
  • Business Analysis (Exposure to Lean Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt)
  • Knowledge of supply chain process and retail channel within electronics industry
