API is seeking seasoned professional to join our company in the role of Senior Software Engineer. The position will be based in our technology office located in Markham, Ontario. The expectation is that this individual will work independently with minimal supervision and primarily focused on system performance & scalability improvements, client integrations, development and support of core applications and maintaining the currency of the IT technology stack.he position will be based in our technology office in Markham, Ontario. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office.

  • Full lifecycle application development.
  • Design, code, and debug software systems.
  • Professional working experience with AWS Clous platform and services.
  • Perform software analysis, risk analysis, reliability analysis.
  • Participate in software design, architectural discussions, prototyping, and development estimation process.
  • Integrate new software solutions with existing client systems.
  • Participate in client requirements, scrum team discussions.
  • Support production as needed.
  • Functional/system integration testing support and deployment.


Required Skills, Education and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years experience developing web-based applications
  • Minimum 5 years development experience in Java/J2EE technologies
  • BSc/BA in computer science, engineering, or relevant field; MSc/MA preferred.
  • Solid full-stack developer
  • Strong skills Spring (MVC, Core, IOC, Spring Boot), Hibernate, Struts, JSF, Angular, Linux
  • Experience with Apache Tomcat, Weblogic & TomEE
  • Experience using and implementing SOAP/REST based web services using XML/Json.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies i.e. API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, ECS, DynamoDB, S3, Cloud deployment tools(Cloud Formation), container Orchestration(i.e. Docker).
  • Strong SQL skills and working knowledge in RDBMS i.e. Oracle, PostgreSQL.
  • Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with Agile and TDD is a plus.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Prior airline domain experience, preferably in crew management/service area.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, normal core business hours. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 3 days in our Markham office. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Compensation
Good faith, target annual salary is $120,000 CAD plus bonus and is commensurate with experience.
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience, and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
