This role will require being full-time onsite at our Toronto office to support collaborative team dynamics and innovative problem-solving.

BitGo is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Full-Stack) who will join our Bitcoin Team. BitGo processes a significant amount of cryptocurrency transactions so our applications need to be fast, accurate, scalable and secure. Our integrated platforms interact with a number of exchanges, agencies, and governments around the world, and we use the best technology the industry offers to build them.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance our multi-signature Bitcoin wallets with the latest Bitcoin features, at the scale of billions of dollars per month
  • Own the functionality, scalability and performance of the systems which support our Bitcoin products
  • Improve, extend and maintain existing backend software which integrates with the Bitcoin blockchain
  • Contribute Bitcoin knowledge and expertise throughout the engineering team
  • Expose and document functionality to the UI, third-party developers, and our internal and external tooling

Skills & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years of Full-Stack software development experience
  • Thoughtful, minimalistic and sound API design philosophy
  • Comfortable with git and Github-based code review
  • Passion for enabling cutting-edge Bitcoin features at scale
  • Believes in testing twice (or more), and shipping once
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Strong understanding of fundamental Bitcoin blockchain mechanics
  • Programming and debugging skills using Node.JS, JavaScript, and Typescript
  • Familiarity with emerging Bitcoin features, such as Taproot, Descriptors, Lightning
  • Non-trivial contributions to Bitcoin-related open source software
  • Experience with developing containerized applications running in Kubernetes

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending upon your leveling and location, the compensation for this role averages between $180,000 - $240,000 CAD base salary. Equity and an annual performance bonus are also a part of this role's package.
