OverviewAbout the Role
In this critical role, you will be at the forefront of our financial efforts, overseeing the recognition of revenue in compliance with ASC 606 for our retailer revenue contracts. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will ensure accurate financial reporting and SOX-compliant controls. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, your expertise will foster process improvements and support automation initiatives, boosting operational efficiency. Your work will directly influence month-end and quarter-end close processes, aiding in timely and precise revenue recording while supporting external reporting and accounts receivable disclosures. You will partner closely with the following cross functional teams in your efforts; Sales, Deal Desk, Finance, Billing, & Financial Systems.

Joining our dedicated retailer revenue accounting team, you'll be pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting, focusing on contract review and revenue recognition for our retailer partnerships. Our team's commitment to accuracy and compliance underpins our success, providing a strong foundation for Instacart's growth and innovation in the retailer business.
About the Job
- Execute month-end close entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare workbooks to support revenue disclosures in external reporting
- Prepare ASC 606 checklists for new and amendment contracts
- Maintain and consistently improve SOX compliant control environment
- Support growth of new product offerings and pricing models by communicating revenue impacts to key stakeholders and building or updating operational procedures and reporting to support new models
- Support and drive process improvement and automation initiatives
About You
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in revenue accounting
- Experience conducting ASC 606 contract reviews
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently to resolve complex issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in drafting accounting memos/policies
- Experience with Alteryx
- Proficient with Oracle
