About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to play a critical role in shaping the user experience across Tempo’s product suite. In this senior-level individual contributor role, you will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Research to translate complex problems into intuitive, scalable, and user-centered solutions.

You will help drive design strategy, elevate quality, and ensure that design thinking is embedded throughout the product development lifecycle—from early discovery through delivery and iteration.

What you'll do:

  • Drive Scope and Impact: Lead design for complex features and product areas with moderate ambiguity, where your work spans multiple teams or major workflows. Own problems end-to-end, from discovery through delivery, maintaining quality under tight timelines and evolving requirements.

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Facilitate strong alignment across design, product, and engineering. Navigate disagreements constructively, influence decisions within your immediate cross-functional partners.

  • Create Business Impact: Connect design decisions to measurable user and business outcomes. Understand tradeoffs, prioritize high-impact opportunities, and advocate for solutions that move the needle for both customers and the company.

  • Execute with Excellence: Drive design strategy and execution with minimal guidance. Contribute to and help evolve Tempo's design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability—while balancing standards with context-specific solutions.

  • Lead and Elevate the Team: Act as a role model for strong design thinking and craft. Provide informal mentorship, give thoughtful feedback, and actively help raise design standards across the team.

  • Embrace AI & Emerging Technology: Apply AI tools with intention and sound judgment across the full design process—using generative UI and emerging technologies to accelerate work and produce better outcomes. Help shape team norms around responsible, high-quality AI usage.

Who you are:

  • Experience: 5+ years as a Product Designer working on complex B2B or SaaS products, with demonstrated ownership of features or product areas spanning multiple teams or core workflows.

  • Design Craft & Thinking: Strong skills in UI design, visual design, and information architecture, with a portfolio that showcases thoughtful problem-solving and polished execution at scale.

  • Strategic & Outcome-Oriented: You connect design to business and user results, understand tradeoffs, and champion the highest-impact opportunities—not just the most elegant solutions.

  • Collaboration & Influence: A trusted partner to Product and Engineering who facilitates alignment, navigates differing perspectives constructively, and builds shared understanding within your pod and immediate cross-functional partners

  • Autonomy & Execution: Comfortable driving strategy and execution independently. You maintain quality and momentum even under ambiguity, complexity, and shifting priorities.

  • Leadership Mindset: You lead by example, elevate design standards, and actively contribute to the growth of others through feedback, mentorship, and shared best practices.

  • AI Fluency: You apply AI tools with high judgment and consistency across your design workflow. This is a baseline expectation at this level, not an area of future growth.

  • Tools: Proficiency with modern design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma). Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) is a plus.

Why Join Tempo?

  • Impact: Work on meaningful products that empower enterprise users and improve productivity.

  • Innovation: Be part of a culture that values creativity and innovation, with opportunities to make a real impact.

  • Collaboration: Join a supportive, collaborative UX team that values openness, communication, and a continuous learning environment.

  • Growth: Opportunities for professional development, including conferences, courses, and mentorship.
