Who we are

In the past, to be a successful restaurateur, you simply had to have a passion for food and a passion for people - but to succeed as a digital restaurateur you also need to have a passion for technology. We believe in the joy of serving others, and that's why we created Otter – to help restaurateurs succeed in online food delivery. Restaurants around the world, both large and small, including Chick-fil-A, Ben & Jerry’s, KFC, and Eataly trust our software to power their delivery business. We increase sales, reduce order issues, and decrease delivery headaches.

What you’ll do

At Otter, we’re using AI and thoughtful design to help restaurants grow. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the food industry—an industry that touches all of us, whether we cook, eat out, or order in. Our mission is to give restaurant operators the digital tools they need to thrive.

Designers at Otter are both product thinkers and craftspeople. They care deeply about the details, but never lose sight of the bigger picture: building systems that make the food business run smarter, faster, and better.

In this role, you’ll:

  • Design end-to-end experiences across Otter — the digital backbone of modern restaurants. You’ll own how restaurateurs run, manage, and grow their business using Otter’s tools, shaping a platform that drives both revenue and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with PMs, engineers, and ops to launch features that simplify complex workflows like item setup, pricing, availability, and modifiers—always with scalability and usability in mind.
  • Lead design critiques and cross-functional reviews to refine ideas quickly, iterate on solutions, and ensure we’re solving the right problems with the right level of craft.
  • Contribute to our design system, evolving shared patterns that power consistent experiences across everything from single-menu edits to multi-brand management.
  • Champion user-centered design, advocating for restaurant operators, delivery staff, and internal teams—while balancing real-world business trade-offs and technical constraints.

This role is perfect for a systems thinker who thrives in complexity, sweats the small stuff, and wants to build foundational tools that help restaurants succeed every single day.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of product or UX design experience
  • A strategic mindset — you understand market dynamics and can help define where the product should go
  • Strong full-stack design skills, from UX flows and systems thinking to visual polish
  • Proven experience building and shipping products in close collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and prioritization skills
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to make smart decisions using user insights and business context
  • Genuine curiosity and passion for the food industry — and a desire to reimagine how restaurants work

  • Changing the restaurant industry: You’ll be part of a team that helps restaurants succeed in online food delivery.
  • Collaborative environment: You will receive support and guidance from experienced colleagues and managers, helping you to learn, grow and achieve your goals, and you’ll work closely with other teams to ensure our customers success.
