Senior Manager, Product Management in this position will be redefining Staples.ca customer’s shopping experience by leading and managing transformation in areas of Traffic, Browse and Navigation Experience, Product and Collection pages, Shopping tools and recommendation engine.This role will have team of Product Managers, and access to Developers and QA team to conceptualize and implement solutions, technology and processes to support the vision. This involves working every day with business and technical teams and develop a commercially viable product roadmap. This position primarily focuses on providing product functional and technical guidance, vision for innovative and scalable experience solutions, and continuous monitoring of key performance metrics associated with the portfolio. Lead the identification, prioritization, and delivery of AI-enabled product capabilities that improve customer experience, personalization, search, recommendations, operational efficiency, and business outcome.

Specifically, You Will:

Product Strategy & Execution Experience

  • Lead and optimize Staples.ca’s top-of-funnel customer experience, including browse, navigation, and discovery.

  • Partner with business and technology teams to deliver scalable, cost-effective solutions that improve customer experience.

  • Streamline eCommerce processes by identifying inefficiencies and applying technology-driven improvements.

  • Own and evolve the product roadmap to strengthen Staples Canada’s digital experience leadership.

  • Translate AI opportunities into product strategy, roadmap priorities, business cases, and measurable outcomes.

  • Act as the bridge between business and technical teams to solve complex problems and align on execution.

  • Communicate product direction, progress, and outcomes to executive and peer stakeholders.

Product Management

  • Oversee day-to-day product operations to ensure priorities and customer needs are met.

  • Prioritize initiatives and develop business cases to support investment decisions.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Build strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication, collaboration, and negotiation.

  • Provide clear, regular updates to executive stakeholders through presentations and written communication.

  • Monitor industry trends, identify market opportunities, and recommend enhancements to the product portfolio.

     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office Environment (Hybrid working model, working from home and the office)

  • Occasional travel required approximately 5% of the time.

     

Some of what you need:

  • Ability to lead and inspire direct/indirect reports ( up to 5) to deliver enterprise class

  • 5+ Experience with product road-mapping tools, AI tools, Microsoft products

  • Strong analytical, data-driven decision making and problem-solving skills

  • Experience launching or managing AI/ML-enabled digital product capabilities, such as search, recommendations, personalization, or generative AI experiences

  • Ability to navigate large organizations and develop strong business partner relationships

  • Outstanding influencing, communication and presentation skills

  • Experience with both Agile and Scrum from a Product Owner Perspective

  • Demonstrated success in working within cross functional teams and effective project 

    management and analytical/decision-making skills

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent (MBA an asset) CSPO/Agile certification an asset
