How You Will Contribute:

As the Senior Manager, Marketing Automation and Personalization at Ciena, you will have a pivotal role in driving our digital marketing efforts and leading the development and execution of our personalization plan. Collaborating closely with leadership and cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for implementing a robust personalization strategy that enables unique user experiences across various marketing channels.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of Ciena's marketing evolution and contribute to our vision of personalization. Working alongside our Personalization Strategy lead and Adobe Suite specialists, you will play a visible role in developing and executing Ciena's Personalization Strategy and roadmap.

Your key focus will be on leveraging Ciena's marketing ecosystem to deliver automated, personalized user experiences at scale. By harnessing data-driven insights, and utilizing marketing automation, you will play a critical role in creating personalized experiences that deeply resonate with our audience segments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute B2B marketing personalization strategies to deliver unified, consistent omnichannel experiences.

  • Translate buyer personas and user data into key segment target audiences

  • Leverage content categorization to serve tailored content.

  • Create personalized marketing experiences across various channels with the ability to scale.

  • Design omnichannel blueprints and orchestrate automated email nurture programs and web personalized experiences.

  • Lead and collaborate with our functional marketing teams, including Field Marketing, Global Programs, Marketing Operations, Data and Analytics, and Portfolio Marketing, to align personalization strategies and plans meeting the customer’s needs.

  • Oversee the development and optimization of our marketing automation platform (Marketo), including Adobe Target and Adobe Analytics, to create and optimize personalized customer journeys.

  • Contribute to key cross-functional marketing projects, such as defining intent scoring models, buyer stages and personas, experimental validation methodology, technology evaluations, and content strategy alignment.

  • Analyze campaign performance and customer digital behavior to refine and improve personalization strategies.

  • Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of personalization efforts.

  • Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance and support in executing personalization initiatives.

The Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in B2B marketing, with a focus on personalization, customer segmentation and marketing automation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge and expertise on digital marketing, marketing automation and CRM platforms. Experience with Adobe platforms (Marketo, Target, Analytics) and Salesforce is strongly preferred.  

  • Demonstrated experience planning, developing and executing successful B2B marketing automation programs with a personalization focus.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and segmentation techniques, with the ability to derive actionable insights from complex datasets.

  • Experience with data management including data capture, enrichment, and privacy.

  • Knowledge of dynamic chat and recommended content features, or similar tools delivering 1:1 experiences. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate, engage and influence senior leadership.

  • Effective leadership skills to manage, inspire and empower a team.

  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

  • Ability to solve problems, adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Passion for staying current with emerging trends and technologies in B2B marketing personalization.

Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $113, 200 - $180, 800

The annual pay range for this position in the USA is $142, 500 - $227, 600

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
