As part of the Strategy Execution, Integration & Delivery team within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), the Senior Manager, ERM Strategic Initiatives is responsible for enabling ERM to operate as an integrated function by driving coordinated execution of strategic priorities, providing ERM leadership visibility into progress, risks, issues, and commitments, and ensuring priorities are effectively translated into action and sustained within day-to-day operations. The role works across ERM and key partners to align stakeholders, manage interdependencies, support prioritization and resource decisions, and deliver an integrated view of execution against ERM objectives. The role will:

  • Translate ERM strategic priorities into integrated execution plans, roadmaps, milestones, ownership structures, and delivery timelines.

  • Coordinate execution across multiple ERM initiatives, ensuring alignment, integration, and effective management of interdependencies across teams and stakeholders.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of an integrated view of ERM priorities, progress, commitments, risks, issues, and delivery outcomes.

  • Partner with senior leaders to support prioritization, sequencing, and resource allocation decisions, balancing competing demands and organizational objectives.

  • Monitor execution performance against plans, identify emerging risks, issues, and execution gaps, and escalate matters requiring leadership attention.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to resolve delivery challenges, remove obstacles, and drive alignment on critical decisions and priorities.

  • Provide strategic analysis, insights, and recommendations to support decision-making, planning activities, and the successful execution of ERM initiatives.

  • Develop and maintain governance, reporting, and communication mechanisms that provide clear visibility into execution status and support effective oversight.

  • Lead implementation and transformation activities associated with ERM strategic initiatives, ensuring stakeholder engagement, adoption, and sustained integration into business practices.

  • Establish strong relationships across ERM, the broader Risk function, and business and corporate partners to ensure coordinated delivery of strategic objectives.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen execution effectiveness, improve integration across initiatives, and enhance ERM's ability to deliver on its strategic priorities.

  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter resource to senior leaders on strategic execution, organizational alignment, program delivery, and change implementation matters.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.

  • Able to manage ambiguity.

Salary:

$94,600.00 - $176,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
