Job Description:
The Operational Learning and Performance (OLP) team provides innovative and digital learning, quality, and knowledge management solutions to the Canadian Operations business lines. Our solutions are aligned to the overall strategy and vision for Canadian Operations and enable our business partners to provide client centric service excellence.
The Senior Learning Consultant will ensure any cross functional mid to large strategic, project learning solution requested is ‘evaluated’ and supports and are aligned to the OLP and Sun Life’s Canadian Operations business strategy. The Senior Learning Consultant role has the overall responsibility for the successful consultation and execution on mid to large projects and strategic initiatives for Learning programs with end-to-end management of new projects and initiatives. This role will be responsible for collaborating with all OLP roles to ensure each strategic and project learning solution is delivered on time with the right resource in place, pivoting plans as needed to respond to change requests as they arise.
What will you do?

Understand and keep current on business partner strategic priorities collaborating closely with the OLP Business Partner Leads

Consult and execute on mid to large projects and initiatives for training programs and solutions ensuring alignment with OLP and Canadian Operations strategies and OKR’s

Conduct analyses to understand desired outcomes, possible learning solutions, impacts to current programs and identify impacted audiences

Build plan outlining work, timelines, resources and communications aligned with business expectations
-
Provide learning consultation for projects and initiatives representing OLP and our business partners

Oversee design needs assessments with Learning Designers to understand desired outcomes and possible learning solutions

Support the Design team to collect content and ensure proper submission from the business Subject Matter Experts (SME’s)

Participate in project working meetings to represent OLP holistically

Proactively offer learning solutions that add value, align to strategic priorities and are OneSun
-
Consult with OLP Business Partner Leads and business partners (as needed) to determine project impacts and learning needs

Partner with other OLP team members to ensure training material is consistent, up to date and aligned with our best practices and standards

Build, sustain and leverage relationships and people networks across portfolios, business partners and external organizations; leverage and share best practices through open communication and sharing with the OLP Business Partner Leads, Learning Consultants and Learning Managers

Plan, monitor and evaluate training outcomes to business project results using multiple levels of training evaluation (including leader/training feedback, quiz design and results, and training post-implementation review and performance KPIs)

Look for ways to streamline the way we work and make recommendations on improvements or enhancements

Facilitate initial development of skills matrix with the business and load skills into the tool for initial build of the skills matrix

Mentor and support Learning Consultants
What do you need to succeed?

University Degree of College Diploma in Adult Education or equivalent professional experience
-
5+ years’ experience in a learning role: well-versed in learning best practices, strategies and methodologies

Knowledge of modern adult learning techniques, methodologies, trends and technology
-
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong relationship building, influence and change management capabilities
-
Strong communication skills – interacting confidently and building relationships across all areas of the organization
-
Ability to collaborate with roles across the organization and Customer obsession mindset
-
Strong analytical and technical skills with expert level ability to analyze data and identify trends to improve learning solutions
-
As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide
