As an iOS Engineer on this team, you will build and scale the sophisticated mobile application that enables restaurant hosts, servers, managers, and owners to plan shifts, manage tables, and grow their businesses. You will collaborate with a cross-functional group of engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver beautiful, high-performance, and high-value features. This role offers the opportunity to own end-to-end user experiences, from complex inventory management and data synchronization to crafting intuitive user interfaces that directly impact daily restaurant operations worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to rapidly iterate on product requirements and designs, ensuring alignment on technical direction and project scope.
  • Drive engineering excellence and software quality by leading architecture and code reviews, advancing automated testing practices, and improving our CI/CD capability.
  • Monitor application health, assess user impact, and deliver timely resolutions for production incidents and support escalations.
  • Adopt AI technologies to enhance your workflow, while also taking ownership of the results produced by these technologies and carefully checking them for accuracy.
  • Mentor and guide team members to foster technical growth and maintain readable, maintainable, and reusable code standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience shipping production-quality native iOS applications and features (typically 5+ years).
  • Proficiency with Swift and technical familiarity with iOS core frameworks.
  • Comfortable using (and have deep experience in two or more of): SwiftUI, Async/Await, Combine, CoreData, Networking, Instruments, SOLID, MVVM, FRP.
  • Proven track record of driving software development projects from technical planning through production deployment.
  • Experience actively mentoring team members and leading robust peer code reviews.
  • Experience writing readable, maintainable, and reusable code with a strong emphasis on automated testing.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced asynchronous programming, reactive frameworks, and software architecture design patterns.
  • Experience optimizing mobile performance and data synchronization workflows using profiling tools.
  • Experience building complex features such as high-performance real-time inventory management systems.

Benefits:

  • Generous paid vacation + time off for your birthday
  • Work from (almost) anywhere for up to 20 days per year
  • Focus on mental health and well-being:
    • Company-paid therapy sessions through SpringHealth
    • Company-paid subscription to Headspace
  • Annual company-wide week off a year - the whole team fully recharges (and returns without a pile-up of work!)
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid volunteer time
  • Focus on your career growth:
    • Development Dollars
    • Leadership development
    • Access to thousands of on-demand e-learnings
  • Travel Discounts
  • Employee Resource Groups
  • Private health and dental insurance
  • Life and Disability insurance

Work Environment & Flexibility

At OpenTable, we pride ourselves on fostering a global and dynamic work environment. As a team member with us, you will benefit from a schedule tailored to accommodate a global workforce operating across multiple time zones. While the majority of your responsibilities may align with conventional business hours, there will be instances where you are expected to manage communications - via calls, Slack messages, or emails - outside of regular working hours to effectively collaborate with international colleagues, respond to restaurant partners, and/or address urgent matters. OpenTable will always abide by and consider local laws and regulations.

Inclusion

We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. We know the best ideas come when we bring different voices to the table, so we're building a team as dynamic as the diners and restaurants we serve—and fostering a culture where everyone feels welcome to be themselves.

If you need accommodations during the application or interview process, or on the job, we’re here to support you. Please reach out to your recruiter to request any accommodations.
