Fox Group Canada is significantly expanding its business portfolio, and the role of the Human Resources Business Partner is pivotal to supporting this growth and shaping the future of HR within the organization.

Due to our continued success and expansion in Canada, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team.

About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and senior HR Business Partner to support retail operations across multiple provinces and multiple brands. This role partners closely with Store Managers, District Managers, and senior leadership to drive performance, strengthen employee relations, ensure compliance, and support organizational growth in a fast-paced retail environment.

The HRBP acts as a trusted advisor, strategic change partner, and operational leader across the full employee lifecycle, with focus on driving HR strategy, leadership development, and organizational growth across brands and regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for retail leadership across multiple brands and stores, influencing and advising at all levels
  • Conduct strategic store visits to assess leadership effectiveness, culture, compliance, and operational performance
  • Conduct monthly touchpoints with Store Managers and bi-weekly calls with District Managers across brands
  • Lead organizational initiatives across brands, including talent management, succession planning, and workforce planning
  • Provide guidance to senior leadership on HR strategy and business alignment across brands
  • Lead complex employee relations cases, investigations, and risk mitigation, including escalated performance, legal, and compliance matters
  • Draft and review termination letters (with or without cause), corrective actions, and Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for escalated or sensitive situations
  • Ensure cross-provincial and cross-brand compliance with Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, and Health & Safety regulations (ON, QC, AB, BC)
  • Review employment contract addendums and support policy implementation across all brands
  • Facilitate leadership coaching and development programs across brands, including new Store Manager HR onboarding and ongoing leadership mentoring
  • Analyze HR metrics, workforce data, and trends to provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations across brands
  • Champion culture, engagement, and employee experience initiatives across the organization and all brands
  • Oversee HR documentation, system integrity (BambooHR), and reporting (e.g., bi-weekly zero-hour reports, HR KPIs)
  • Drive implementation of company-wide HR policies, programs, and process improvements across brands
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders on multi-provincial, multi-brand HR projects
  • Support Health & Safety compliance by reviewing workplace inspections and leading investigations where required

Qualifications

  • University degree required; CHRP designation preferred (or in progress)
  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience as an HR Business Partner in retail, preferably across multiple brands
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation across multiple provinces
  • Proven experience in strategic HR advisory, employee relations, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Solid understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights, and Health & Safety regulations
  • High level of discretion, integrity, and sound judgment
  • Strong ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (bilingual English/French is an asset)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of driving multiple projects across brands in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred)

Pay range: $85,000 – 95,000/annually
