Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Capital Markets & Derivatives

Are you passionate about building innovative technology solutions in Capital Markets? Join Manulife’s Derivatives Product Team and help shape the future of trading, risk management, and AI-driven financial platforms.

We're seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer with strong software engineering expertise and experience in derivatives trading systems. In this role, you'll design, develop, and support scalable, cloud-native applications that power critical business capabilities across trading, analytics, and risk management.

What You'll Bring
  • 5+ years of full-stack software development experience
  • Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Python
  • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, SQL Server, and Databricks
  • Experience building and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of Capital Markets and financial derivatives (options, futures, forwards, and swaps)
  • Experience integrating AI/ML or Generative AI solutions into enterprise applications
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
What You'll Do
  • Design and develop high-performance trading and risk management applications
  • Build cloud-native solutions on Azure using modern engineering practices
  • Integrate market data, analytics platforms, and AI-powered capabilities into trading workflows
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineers to deliver strategic technology initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement through Agile delivery, automation, and engineering best practices
Nice to Have
  • Derivatives pricing and risk management expertise
  • Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, Murex, Findur, or Aladdin
  • Azure OpenAI, OpenAI APIs, or enterprise copilot development experience
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income products and markets

Working Arrangement

Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between

$113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
