Senior Financial Analyst (Contract)

What will you work on?
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst to join our accounting team, with a focus on financial reporting, asset management, and accruals. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results while partnering with the business to strengthen accounting processes and controls. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, brings strong technical accounting expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
How will you create impact?

• Partner with business stakeholders to enhance the accrual process, including:
  • Improving the accuracy and timeliness of expense recognition
  • Developing and standardizing accrual methodologies
  • Identifying gaps in existing processes and implementing improvements
  • Strengthening documentation and internal controls around accruals
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Perform variance analysis and provide clear insights into financial results
• Ensure financial data is accurate and compliant with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
• Manage capital assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts reconciliations
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure proper financial treatment of transactions
• Support internal and external audits through documentation and analysis
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and controls

What are your skills and experience?

• CPA designation (required or in progress) or equivalent
• 5–8+ years of experience in financial reporting or accounting
• Experience with accrual accounting and month-end close processes
• Experience with fixed assets accounting and asset lifecycle management
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)

• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication across finance and non-finance teams

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in Ontario is $80,000 to $100,000 Per Annum. The offered pay to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, etc. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
