We are currently seeking a Sr. Director, Finance, Canada to provide strategic partnership and guidance to business units. It leads cross functional efforts to enable forward looking, actionable insights with a focus on driving strategic value that influences key business decisions. This role will be based on hybrid work model reporting to our Vaughan head-office twice a week (Tuesday/Wednesday)
The Sr. Director, Finance is responsible for overall financial oversight and direction for the Canadian business representing over US$1B in revenue from medical products, distribution and services in the acute and non-acute markets with 9 distribution centers across Canada. This role oversees financial planning and analysis, reporting, accounts payable, tax and treasury functions as well as direct supervision of two Finance Managers and their respective teams (approximately 15 professionals). The role also provides indirect leadership and support to the accounting team in Canada who report to the global accounting team. The Sr. Director, Finance is a member of the Canada Leadership Team and actively participates in strategic planning and execution, assesses and reports out financial risks, liaises with U.S. and international finance partners as well as CRA and other government entities as required.
This role requires on-site presence, two days per week, at our head office in Vaughan, Ontario.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide executive financial leadership and guidance for the Canadian business unit,
- Act as a Director of the company with official signing authority for Cardinal Health Canada Inc. and our manufacturing plant in Canada (Ludlow Technical Products LTD)
- Chair the Pension Committee. This includes liaising with the Plan Administrator and committee members on plan strategy, and compliance including the annual audit process and fund performance
- Business partner with Canada Leadership Team including the Regional President and other senior leaders in Sales, Marketing & Operations
- Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering a high-performing finance organization that supports the overall mission of the company
- Review monthly financial reporting and variance and financial statement analysis for the Canada business, including P&L, Net Working Capital performance and other key metrics
- Present monthly financial performance to leadership team in a clear and concise manner and summarize to overall organization during quarterly town halls
- Lead the annual budget and long-range planning processes, incorporating business initiatives, economic trends, competitive environment, and operational effectiveness
- Support and Liaise with Medical Segment FP&A teams and Functional groups
- Conduct complex analysis and modelling using analytics and understanding of business
- Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies. Support implementation of necessary controls to safeguard the organization’s assets in conjunction with the accounting team.
- Guide the development of reporting tools to evaluate and develop actionable information
- Drive improvements in financial processes and systems, leveraging financial technologies and data analytics to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy in reporting

- 10+ years related experience required
- Strong business acumen with solid experience in business management, financial planning, performance
- measurement and budgeting functions

- Exposure to internal control systems in a global organization
