As the Senior Counsel, Client Solutions (Regulatory) you will provide general legal advice and direction to various stakeholders, with an emphasis on supporting our life, accident and sickness, group benefits and creditor insurance business. You will support a range of strategic projects, offer guidance and assistance to our compliance and privacy teams, and review, draft and negotiate contracts.


How you will create impact: 
  • Providing legal advice and guidance on various issues related to all facets of our life, accident and sickness, group benefits and creditor insurance business.
  • Advising on privacy issues.
  • Negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts (such as distribution, reinsurance and networking agreements), insurance policies and endorsements, and internal guidelines.
  • Cultivating and maintaining effective relationships with key legal and business personnel.
  • Representing the organization in industry groups and committees, pro-actively identifying and actioning process improvements, and keeping current on legislation and legal developments.

    To join our team:  
    • You have a minimum of 10 years of broad and progressive legal experience in the insurance industry, with a particular focus on life, accident and sickness, group benefits and creditor insurance.
    • You have a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree and are licensed to practice law in a Canadian province or territory.
    • You have solid in-house legal counsel process knowledge and experience

    • You will do detail oriented work that requires a high degree of mental concentration for extended periods of time.
    • You will be subject to a Background check as a condition of employment, in the event you are the successful candidate.
