Job Description:

The Lean Transformation team works with business leaders to optimize processes, transform operating models, and identify opportunities for automation and AI-enabled solutions. Serving Sun Life’s DBTS, Corporate, and Canadian Business Units, the Senior Consultant, Process Transformation will combine a consulting mindset, Lean Six Sigma toolkit, and experience with automation and Generative AI to drive process improvement and digital transformation.

This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership from day one, and is energized by working on complex enterprise priorities. You will partner with senior business and technology leaders to bring structure to ambiguous problems, simplify how work gets done, and translate Lean, automation, and AI into measurable business outcomes.

What will you do?

  • Design and build operating models for various business areas which includes defining the process, people and system capabilities needed to meet business goals.

  • Bring structure to ambiguous business problems by defining clear problem statements, workplans, success measures, and practical recommendations

  • Drive initiatives forward with minimal direction, ensuring progress from analysis to decision-making, pilot, implementation, and measurable outcomes

  • Independently lead stakeholder workshops and current-state assessments to surface pain points and opportunities; prioritize use cases, and define target state process designs

  • Redesign and simplify processes to make them automation/AI-ready by reducing variability, clarifying decision points, and eliminating non-value-added steps

  • Identify and prioritize automation and AI/Gen AI opportunities, defining success measures, feasibility and roadmaps from pilot to scale

  • Partner with data and technology teams to translate optimized processes into AI-enabled solutions, including intelligent workflows and autonomous agents

  • Communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

What do you need to succeed?

  • Self-starter with strong ownership; bias for action and ability to operate independently

  • University degree with 3-5 years of progressive experience in management consulting, process improvement, operational excellence, or transformation roles

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to all organizational levels

  • Strong project management orientation with the ability to independently prioritize work, manage risks and dependencies, and maintain momentum

  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills with the ability to translate insights into practical recommendations

  • Experience with automation, process mining, AI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Pega, Blue Prism etc

  • Exposure to Generative AI and/or agentic AI use cases in a business context, including evaluating suitability, defining use cases, or supporting implementation

  • Advance proficiency in core business tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, or equivalent experience

What's in it for you?

  • Opportunity to work on high-priority transformation initiatives with visibility across DBTS, Corporate, and Canadian Business Units

  • Competitive salary and bonus structure influenced by market range data

  • Joining one of Canadas top 25 companies to work for, as recognized by LinkedIn

  • Flexible Benefits from the day you join to meet the needs of you and your family
