What you'll do

The Senior Consultant, POP Procurement is a key partner to the Manager in sourcing and procurement execution, strategic vendor management, and contract compliance related to point-of-purchase (POP) signage.
This role ensures signage required for line reviews or in-store marketing initiatives is procured effectively to achieve optimal cost savings.

The Senior Consultant provides day to day oversight, cross functional coordination, escalation leadership, and executive reporting across Canadian Tire Retail and Party City.

Procurement

  • Liaise with In-Store Marketing & POP Line Review teams to determine signage requirements

  • Provide comprehensive sourcing and procurement support to ensure all procurement spend is executed through contracts when possible, increasing cost effectiveness

  • Provide coaching and oversight to Analysts in forecasting, vendor KPI and performance reporting, updating POP Guide, and tracking contract compliance

  • Act as the primary point of contact for escalations from the In-Store Marketing or POP Line Review teams to resolve issues involving vendors and cross-functional partners, removing blockers swiftly to enable seamless ordering and execution

  • Partner with the Manager to drive strategic initiatives, savings targets, document processes and procedures, and drive continuous improvement of POP procurement ways of working

Cross-Banner & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Engage with In-Store Marketing & POP Line Review to understand business needs, upcoming initiatives, and competing priorities to deliver procurement timelines, scope, and service expectations. Ensure ordering is executed through accurate POP Guide, or that net‑new POP requirements are appropriately sourced; partner on vendor performance tracking and escalations as needed.

  • Work closely with Non-Merch procurement on Source to Contract

Reporting & Analysis

  • Consolidate inputs from Analysts into clear, executive‑ready updates, highlighting key insights, risks, and recommended actions for the Manager and senior stakeholders.

  • Monitor performance (service, cost, and timelines), surfacing risks, variances, and savings opportunities with recommended actions.

  • Provide analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning (including assumptions, risks, and trade-offs)

  • Providing reporting to Merchandising Best Practices Dealer Committee

Strategic Vendor Support

  • Develop supplier base and support strategic vendor management with the Manager, including performance reviews, issue resolution, and enterprise alignment to contract terms.

  • Participate in negotiations and vendor governance meetings to reinforce expectations, track commitments, and drive accountability.

  • Analyze and monitor market and supply chain, determine plans to mitigate risks such as tariffs

What you bring

  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or related retail operations.

  • Strong knowledge of retail signage is an asset

  • Working knowledge of procurement processes, contract fundamentals, and vendor performance management.

  • Proven ability to develop KPIs and vendor scorecards to track and enhance performance

  • Strong financial and analytical acumen to support strategic sourcing initiatives

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to coordinate cross-functional teams through ambiguity and competing priorities.

  • Proven experience consolidating data into concise insights and presenting to leadership.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving, escalation, and decision-making skills.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with tight timelines and multiple stakeholders.
