What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Executive Director, Brand and Events, the Senior Manager, Events is responsible for successful end-to-end marketing from conception through to execution of a variety of events and sponsorships for CIBC Asset Management with minimal direction.
Liaising with multiple internal and external key stakeholders to maximize opportunities and differentiate ourselves while providing a seamless, consistent approach to standards and processes associated with CIBC Asset Management.
The Senior Manager, Events will work closely with investment teams, marketing and distribution teams, to support the goals and objectives of CIBC Asset Management through the delivery of customized events and experiences.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $92,490 to $127,200.
The base salary is determined by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development, enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.
In addition to base pay, compensation for this role includes participation in an annual discretionary incentive or bonus program.

How you’ll succeed
- Strategic Vision & Oversight - You will lead the strategic development and management of customized national events and experiences. Additionally, you will lead the planning and execution of national events and experiences (in person or virtual). You will lead the negotiation of event partnerships and contracts and manage budgets ensuring effective allocation of funds to maximize impact and meet business objectives. You will provide consultative services to the build and execution of other businesses, lead events and experiences. You will research and stay current on industry trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge and drive continuous differentiation and improvement.
- Event Management- You will support and manage event and experiences content plans in partnership with the experts, presenters and content/social team to help promote and optimize across various marketing channels. You will plan and coordinate logistics for both small and large in-person events and provide on-site execution support on delivery. Travel will be required, which will include confirming accommodations, locations, vendors, set-up, travel schedules, staging, food & beverage and show coordination. You will be expected to conduct detailed briefings and on-going communication for all projects.
- Relationship Management- You will proactively research and analyze various industry and/or sponsorship opportunities for Asset Management. You will create process and analyze event program results based on insights, metrics and learnings to develop recommendations to senior management for future activations. You will work closely with external event vendors when establishing and monitoring service agreements and defining event service requirements. You will cultivate, build and maintain strong relationships with different CIBC senior management, including VP’s and Regional Heads of Asset Management and Corporate Marketing groups, to establish and maintain key relationships.
Who You Are
- You can demonstrate 5+ years’ experience in leading and managing events in the asset management industry and have excellent events, marketing and sponsorship skills and understanding. Knowledge of financial services industry, with specific focus on Asset Management, is an asset. Having the Certified Meeting Professional designation is an asset.
