What you'll be doing
As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis will be responsible for providing advice and consultation for business application developments to ensure growth. The role provides technical leadership, interpreting complex information and participating in client business review sessions to influence decisions regarding the use of technology to support objectives. The Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis develops, recommends and facilitates activities required for the application of new technologies to support existing processes and client needs. The role provides expertise to project managers, coordinators and directors on technology functionality and utilization, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics. The role independently resolves a variety of ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impacts, devising new methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking.

How you'll succeed

Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. Primarily working with Rates desk but since it is a cross asset risk management platform they will opportunities working on other asset classes as well.

Solution Design - Build client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.

Leading and Mentoring – Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
Who you are
- You have 5+ years working as a Business Analyst, Business System Analyst, or Business System Consultant in Financial Services and Technology, Fintech, Capital Markets Technology, or comparable financial and technology domains.
- Job Duties:
- Serve as a bridge between business and technology teams, working with product owners/managers on BRD requirements gathering
- Collaborate with developers/vendors on solution requirements (SRD) and provide supports as the SME during development and QA cycles
- Document business and solution requirements/specifications on new product features or existing product enhancements
- Manage release cycles, provide supports to business and other technology teams, such as, product owner/manager, Dev and QA, perform integration testing and ensure successful production go-live
- Other responsibilities include: assess and recommend technology delivery model and process enhancement, review QA test cases, config environment, and facilitate system changes due to regulatory initiatives
- Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of BA/Product Owner/QA experience working with enterprise-level applications
- Bachelor or Master degree from a reputable university in STEM
- You're experienced with Confluence, Jira, Excel, Visio, and SQL. It's an asset if you know Python.
- You're highly organized. You have the ability to work on multiple initiatives and stay organized and focused.
- You have excellent critical thinking skills. You excel at problem solving and data analysis. You have the ability to think creatively to come up with out-of-the-box solutions.
- You're a positive go-getter. You're positive, inquisitive, self-motivated and take initiative.
- You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information. You know how to communicate information in a meaningful way to various types of stakeholders.
